I copied this topic from my topic in the Driver Madness - wishlists forum!

----

In Driver: 2 and Driver: 3 we could find a few bridges which opened up to allow boats to fit through. In these titles no boats actually went under. In fact they should and you should be able to stay in the middle and fall onto the boat which has ramps on it and then you can use these ramps to jump onto land again. But that’s another story I’ll explain that more in another wish.

The purpose of this topic is to intergreat something amazing, something which will take a lot to program but will add to the realism of the game. In the game we have on-foot which I’ll also link to this in someway. At the moment weapons seem pretty large I think we should keep the weapons basic since it’s a driving game and we should keep onfoot for other things like I’m going to explain here.

In Driver: 2 these bridges where automatic, in driv3r you had to press a button to activate them. To improve on that in the next generation driver we need to do what they did in games like Doom III and enable the user to wonder over to a control center and change all the parameters of the bridge. You should be able to set the height the bridge is raised and things like that. Here is a list of great options similar to this.

Height: How high the bridge will go at a maximum.
Time to Max Height: How long it takes to reach the maximum height.
Time at Max Height: How long will the bridge remain at that height.
Time to Min Height: How long it takes to reach the minimum height.
Time at Min Height: How long will the bridge remain at that height.
Time: Time until the bridge goes up again.

All these parameters should be able to be set so you can make the movie in the film director the way you want. You should also have the ability to set these up before you start filming with the film director.

First off, all these should've been posted in the Wishlist thread.

Secondly, being able to manually change the angle of the bridge would be enough

I thought it's a better idea to keep them separate. Going into the wishlist thread where your talking about millions of different wishes at once get very confusing.

However this wish does link up to other wishes I made in the other threads if you where to control these feature with the Advanced Film Director feature I was talking about.

EDIT; re-looking at this forum, it's all about wishes for the next driver game. It's like no one cares about previous driver games anymore.

Every other forum I use they still talk about Driver 3 and Driver: Parallel Lines a lot.

and some even talk about Driver 2 and 1 too. Smile
What happened to talking about all the previous games. :S

Yea as soon as I posted that I realized thats why you did it. The only problem is this place could get pretty messy if every wish had its own thread.

I was thinking, if I had the first post in the wishlist, I would have links to different topics inside the thread for easy navigation by Reflections.

We do mention older games once in a while, mostly when we're pointing out what we liked or didn't like about that particular game. I know thats not really talking about it like you mentioned

Yes to more bridges, bridge controls, ramps and jumps. That's one of the best parts of any Driver game. I also want a cheat that allows for placement of ramps anywhere on the map.

Why should it be a cheat when it could be a stunt mode.

Like the arena thing in stuntman, but instead of a arena, a whole city as a playground!

I would like it if the drawbridges would raise and lower (if there are drawbridges in the city) ONLY IF A SHIP GOES UNDER IT. It's stupid how in Driver 2 in Chicago and Midnight Club 3 in Detroit how the drawbridges go up and down WHEN THERE ARE NO SHIPS AROUND.Mad Here's what needs to be done, the drawbridges should only raise and lower when there's a ship around. And if you fall through the gap between the halfs of the bridges, you'll land on the ship under you and you and your automobile will be sailing on the ship!Big Grin We should also "Jack" a drawbridge. Meaning we can enter the boxhouse and "Jack" the drawbridge man out so you could raise and lower it yourself. It's all a perfect idea!Big Grin

Yeah, also Midtown Madness did the same thing.
I think Midtown Madness 2 achually had boats going under it.

But I still like the ability in Doom III to control computer systems within the game. Something a freeroam game like driver has never achieved.

Even if it's a little motorboat, the drawbridge should be very active for the most action. Even regular scheduled lifts like in Driver 2 would be nice. Better yet, just leave the drawbridge at a 40 degree angle if we set it that way in the drawbridge booth, a permanent stunt bridge.

And yes to a stunt arena.
