I wouldn't say that the Wii is a "Children's Console." I have a Wii, and I'm not a child. People of all ages use the Wii, it provides a lot of physical activity, and it even helps people who are in physical therapy (I saw that as a news headline on Fox 61 news a couple months ago).

But the WII is not just a childs game. but back to what you said about them seeing aobut thae age range. That is good idea of what they may be doing. I know that alot of parents are willing to buy games for children to keep them busy. |

But then again, the Wii also has its M rated titles. Manhunt 2 being one of the most popular and controversal. In fact, back in July of last year, the stupid a-hole Jack Thompson sued the Wendy's fast food franchise for putting promotional Nintendo Wii items in kid's meals. He thought that kids buying the Wii would encourage them to buy Manhunt 2 which was coming out 3 months later. "New York is the coolest place in the world! He wants to boycott anything that has a hint of voilence! Just because I have a Wii, doesn't make me NEED Manhunt 2! In fact it's oen of my "games to never play". Our ol' friend JT there doesn't care about literature or movies, but about games. When you pull the right trigger, or press the A button and press B to reload, that makes you automaticlly know how to perfectlly use a gun and want to go kill people. People like him are a$$ holes. I was DrIvEr KiD on Atari so if you remember me, tell me who you were lol. |

Wii does seem mostly marketed for fans of classic Nintendo games like Mario, Zelda, etc, with cartoony graphics, cute characters and lots of mini games. Nothing wrong with that, just an opinion. Wii and Nintendo have mostly been about family friendly games.
I think EH will fit nicely on the Wii and be a moderate success, and was likely the reason it was made. Use an older engine without too much cost to make a futuristic take on DPL without the Driver logo for younger wii gamers, 7+ rating. -------------- Next Driver: Free Roam TAG MODE chases, DRIVING CAREERS, Intense Speed, Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, Interior Dash view, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, intense, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun... |

There is probably no reason.
But the fact a Ubisoft employee wanted a game where the main character had to rescue the city. They turned over to Ubisoft Reflections because they created the Driver: Parallel Lines engine and together they decided to tweak it enough so it looked like an entirely new game. It's a smart decision re-using the games engine! It'd be good if they made another driver game using the same engine. GTA pretty much did the same thing! |

This is by far the worst idea I've ever seen Ubisoft go with for a game. It's even worse than licensing movies/TV shows and making them into games. I'm thinking that this game will sell very low and that it'll be a terrible one.

This is just great. Nice job, Reflections, agreeing to work on a game that is made specifically to pleasure the likes of young children (*sarcasm*).
It further points out how many people in game publishing companies and as part of a developer look only towards entertainment and money, not looking towards further helping us understand the world better through this mass medium/art. |
