I finished it last nite. The last mission flying through those cranes was real hard. I can't believe I actually made it. Sometimes I was'nt sure if I would shake the hand of the maker of that campagne, or choke him til his eyes popped out.
I'm making a short hi-lite movie with each mission getting about 6 to 8 seconds each.

I'm at the Bf 110 takeoff and landing mission, craziness. I guess I'm pretty near to the end, because this one is a climax in itself. I could not believe that I actually managed to take off from those canyons on first try, even though it seemed like I was gonna crash into the rocks I just barely made the "jump" over the rocks (ant there's a glitch that makes the cliffs turn invisible sometimes so I didn't know if I was gonna make it or just blow up from hitting an invisible cliff). Pulling up after the stall after flying over the cliffs was also hard because of all the stuff under my wings. I crashed on landing though. This is gonna be really hard.

Guys use trim during take offs and landing, makes things easier, you can almost fly at stall speed (i.e. squeeze out all possible energy) Smile .
Just a suggestion... I know it can be done with joystiq but it is easier this way IMO.

Did any of you guys finish the P-47 mission?
I got a go on it, but I did'nt do it right. I crash landed and I geuss I must have crossed the circumference line of the Target as my wrecked plane was sliding and thats how I got that Mission Complete. I found that mission to be a pain inth butt. Could'nt do it.

Heck they were ALL a pain in my butt.

My most wrongly finished mission was the Bi-1 landing, which I finished without rudder which I lost on takeoff, and tipped over on my nose for applying breaks too much. Then throttle up, and a nose slide to mission complete Big Grin

I've done them all properly up to the last mission where I have got through the tunnel but not landed properly! Smile

I did the BI-1 wrong also because I landed it with out gear and thats how I was able to stop quick enough.
But how is the P-47 mission done. I could'nt figure that one out.

I just aimed slightly above the horizon, prop pitch 0% and kept my speed around 260km/h

Landing is rather easy, getting over the fence is hard

Aim at horizon, make sure you are trimmed(!), radiator closed, keep speed at about 280ish, only put the flaps down at the last moment to get you over the fence, same with gear, leave it as late as possible.
I made it quite easily after a few attempts using those rules Smile

I'm at the (last?) mission, flying through the cranes. I'll leave that for tomorrow.

The campaign was really great but I just wish there were more missions that had to do with actual flying (like the Bf-109, Bi-1 and Gladiator, which are also my favorites) than with landing. Also some missions were just redundant, like the "land at 73125 airfields". But overall it was great. I always found that after failing a mision for like 10 times, taking a multi hour break and trying again would make me finish it in the first few tries.

So what about the P-38L mission Scolar talked about when he opened this thread? That was the reason I started the thing in the first place to see what that was about but some of the missions would'nt load for me in my game and the P-38 one must have been one of them. They just wouldnt start. It was 2 or 3 that would 'nt run. I wonder what those were like.

How did you try and load them ? Full Mission Builder ? What error message did you get ?

I loaded them into Full MIssion Builder and the ones that did'nt work would just sit there with the message "Stand by Loading Mission" and nothing would ever happen and after 6 or 8 minutes of looking at that I would just X out of it and move on to the next mission. The other missions began loading right away with no problem. I think I will reload the campaign and fly it as such so I can see those missing missions if its possible as a fix to the problem.
I really want to see that P-38L mission Scolar is talking about.

I started playing this a couple of months ago and gave up after the "chimmneys", after reading this I feel "inspired" to carry - although any tips would be appreciated!
