LoL after we get engaged I lost visual on you, few moments later I spotted one P-39 in trouble few hundreds meters below and dived after its pursuers... I actually thought that was you Hammer ... that was grande confusion on my part really.
I figured that wasn't you only after I spotted tactical number on the limping P-39 which somehow survived.

There is one desert map on Warclouds with similar planeset, it features P-51B too!
Of course I jumped in that crate and I'm just driving around unharassed Big Grin . Here and there I actually attack something Veryhappy .
Yeah, having faster plane is enormous advantage.

Yeah its awesome, although P51B of late 1943, would be a very dangerous plane for the A4 I think. Much more dangerous than a SPitfire V IMO.

3.5 years playing this sim and I've never flown online. Not once.

I don't see that changing anytime soon as my evenings are usually pretty busy (kids aged 13, 7, 6 and 1) and I don't even have a joystick at the moment (the 7 year old stole it).

Spits vs 109 and Zeke vs Wildcats about every couple days, only servers I really fly on(spend good bit of time). Then online wars on Tuesday, Friday, and sunday.

I use hyperlobby only for online war (FS). I normally use Xfire's server finder when I am alone.

But I must say I spend alot of time on

I don't know if they had FW-190A4 there, it was a 1943/44 day planeset on Warclouds, every day is another year of war; further info:

I noticed that blue team flew FW-190A5's, Bf-109G2/6's...
I enjoyed it... Cool

The servers I usually frequent are the Spits/109s, Mustangs/109s and Zekes/Wildcats and Okinawa_1945. I really like Okinawa_1945. It is fairly new, full switch, and I am trying to let folks know about how good that server is. I said before but will mention again that I am using the the FS457_Choctaw nick. I am usually able to get in a couple hours a week depending on what is going on here at home.

This is my situation also, except that we have a 2 year old. Maybe this year I will be able to fly online if I get the overseas job I am trying for, and I bet it will take a hundred deaths for me to get good at dogfighting online however.

And me as well, married with a daughter (nearly 5) and a son (just 1 year). The only time I can get online is when my wife is working and the kids are down for their nap/evening sleep. Usually this all comes to pass in the afternoon on the weekends. My wife isn't demanding, and shes quite understanding of my hobbies, this and music, so if I only get a limited time to do this I'm ok with that.

I did fly quite a bit this weekend.
Spits vs 109's, and UK Dedicated3 bow mostly.

I flew FW-190's, F-4F's, Mustang, Jugs, La-5 and both servers have few maps with the IAR-81. In Love Party Hat

I'd really love to see UK Dedicated3 pickup more people in the US evenings. Sad
UK Dedicated team has some of the best maps out there. bow bow

People in US time zone should really give it a shot.

I was on Spits vs. 109s for a bit this evening.

No squad mates about (as usual) so I flew Bf110s (very out of character for me) but I got bored so I quit. That Norway scenario just doesn't work for me for some reason. I've played it from both sides and just find it tedious. I tried to break the boredom by flying over to Peterhead and doing a bit of airfield suppression, but the flak made short work of me. Oh well...

You'll find me on Z vs W and Spits vs 109s most Tuesdays and Thursdays. The 310th gets together to verbally bash each other on those nights. We only fly to take out our aggression on some unsuspecting opponents...

I like Eastern Front scenarios best on Spits vs 109s Cool ...
I think I may have experienced this mission you are talking about... red side sports Hurricane, SBD and F4F, blue side Bf-109E4/B and Bf-110?...

I had nice time in F4F I killed two Bf-109E's then me and my friend in Hurri got bounced, he had extremely bad luck to be picked by 109's as first victim (as we haven't seen them at all), so they shot him down in first pass... alerted, I done a series of hard evasion maneuvers and one of the 109's orbiting over me actually buzzed vertically past me and plunged right into the sea (I reckon heavy elevator CTRL has something to do with it Mean Happy ).

However another 109 is still above me... and he knows business!

I'm unable to gain anything and by this time he really tightened his BnZ net on me... as a desperate move, I actually went head on on what seemed to be slightly above my stall speed; he dives and I'm nosing up in order to put some burst on him.

Of course it ends in disaster... few large holes in my starboard wing due to 20mm treatment.

At this point I don't have any illusions and the only option is to give him a good run for money... but after another hard turn I actually spotted Boston on his tail and shooting at him Hammer .

Couldn't believe lol... saved by a bomber!

And so... fight turned into a chase; two of us chased, by now, damaged 109.

Unfortunately, we had American markings on RAF vs Germany map, and both of us got kicked at this point Hammer .
A really lousy way to go after I survived one of the most memorable fights ever that I had in IL2 Frown.

Oh boy, lots of reasons.

I remarried in December. My new wife and I have been moving her stuff from her house to mine and also trying to get my house remade to her tastes. Smile Also, I tried another game or two but in the last day or two Hyperlobby has called.

Amazing how well this game has aged!

But, then, so have I! Smile

I saw you online last night DKoor. (I remember actually thinking "hey, there's DKoor." Smile ) Yours was the only name I recognised though. I need to get online more often.

I went on Spits_vs_109s for a while. The map was Norway - and even though there were quite a few people on, the map is so huge I managed to fly a He-111 all the way to the target fleet, sink a destroyer, and return to base without being spotted by the enemy. I saw tracer on the horizon one time only during the sortie.

Went up in a 109 and flew solitary cap over one of the Red targets. Shot down a Boston, then had to limp home and crash land as the blighter had holed my oil reservior.

Red had very nearly won this huge and desolate map, and people were getting very frustrated, so I swapped to red and took a Boston up to help finish it. The map was so huge people were getting lost at sea. Then I lost connection. Roll Eyes

Back into the game. Joined up on UK_Ded_2 where a Battle of Midway scenario was just kicking in. Flew CAP over the island in a Wildcat along with another chap, and soon the two of us were supporting each other nicely against a stream of lone dive bombers and torpedo bombers making solo attacks against the island. Even guys in Zeroes seemed to ignore us in favour of straffing the island! I got 5-6 kills in a short time, even though I was mostly just circling above my team-mate in case he got in trouble.

My night was capped when somebody called me a Noob for shooting their torpedo-bomber down. Happy

I definitely need to do this more often. Smile

T.

I fly online all most exclusively and mainly within the K9 Squadrons. But when I do decide to fly on HL it is usually on Zekes vs Wildcats and under my handle I use here, Quazi. I thought about using a different name, but I like the idea that m8s from this forum can recognize my name. Makes for good fun the day after when I can be poked at because someone from these forums shot me down. Or if I had a good DF with a m8 from these boards. I wish everyone from these boards would use their Ubi name when on HL.
