I was just wondering what community (if not this one) was the most active (forums and website)? Also which clan/squadron(s) are the most active?

I am new to IL2. I am still learning the finer points of the game, but I'm getting there. On hyper lobby I noticed to most active servers are RCAF and Skies of Fire/Valor.

I know I could probably search the forums for this last question, but I will throw it in here anyway:
Is there a way to play IL 2 on a higher resolution than 1024? I know my computer can handle the max settings (And in options it is on Excellent for everything except for landscape which is Perfect). I've seen some SS's that look twice as good as my game. Should I be running it in windowed mode as my monitor native resolution is 1280?

Specs:
C2D at 2.00 GHz (P7350)
4 GB of RAM
GeForce GT 130M

There is one community but many forums, each with a different character. Activity around "What's the most boring plane"
may not be worth some other topics, no? Take a look at SimHQ for example and Google up a few more then check the activity
on the Usenet Flight Sim Newsgroup, there's easily enough going on to overload anyone.

I have yet to see a good search function on these boards so I use Google instead.

Search for a file named conf.ini located in your game folder, open it via notepad or similar program, search for [window] section, and edit width and height values to your liking.

It should look something like this:

This commnunity tends to be the most active wherever it is... For instance... here at UBI.. this community is the most active.. at Sim HQ this community the IL2 community is the most active.. is the most active... Just for the record, flight simmers don't join "clans" but rather squads or squadrons.



The Skies of Fire/Valor you mentioned has a decent group, the Fire Squadron or FS~

Thanks for the feedback guys. And yes I realized that they aren`t clans haha. I will check those links out. I got my game resolution set up. It still does not look as good as I wanted to.

Thanks again, hopefully I will continue to learn proper techniques. I was looking at a few squads. The United States Navy looks like a noob friendly squad.
