This is a new one for me. Last night I was flying a mission in the Ostfront FW-190 fighter campaign. It was a long, intense and ultimately successful mission. My squad of four downed 16 Yaks and Laggs while losing only one of our own. I emerged unscathed from battle, landed at my airfield, taxied off the runway, shut down the engine and exited the mission. The mission summary then proceeded to inform me that I was KIA! What?! This is the fist time I've seen this happen in the seven years I've been playing. Have any had this happen to you? Does anyone have a clue why? Oh the horror
Just reflew the mission. Long story short: successful mission, land taxi off runway and...I'm dead again! I then just hit refly and ended the mission immediately so I could advance in the campaign. Wierd
"Hmmm, mayby check your birthday date, people sometimes getting old and than daying....."
Another possibility I never thought of...Maybe I had a stroke while shutting down my engine or I just got a radio message that my Social Security check was cancelled and my wife sold all our assetts while I was off adventuring...back to the heart attack scenario
Another possibility is that DGen got a little confused as to which aircraft you were flying. If you've got time on your hands and are curious, open the mission in FMB and see whether more than one aircraft has "player aircraft" checked, or "AI only" unchecked. I've seen that cause the problem from time to time.
