have been waiting for a new TS for some time.
this new one is supposed to include file transfer capabiltiy.

Oooh, I wonder what it will look like. I also wonder how good SoW's ingame voice chat will be, cause if it's good then it will get used more because it's already part of the server, no need to exit or alt+tab out of the game to connect to hat servers TS.

I am wondering if they will go the route of Ventrillo .. and limit the server to a set number and start to charge for it..

The last one I used online was Roger Wilco. I've never used Teamspeak or Ventrillo. I don't imagine either simulate the way a voice sounds on oxygen while wearing a mask? I always thought that would have been an extra bit of immersion.

the cool thing about TS3 is that it's supposed to do 3d sound. i.e. if your wingman was on your right you'd hear him from your right, helpful for 1st person shooters but not as much for flight sims

Ooh, I like the text to speech, my squad tried out ventrillo and we didn't really like it but we did miss the text to speech joins and parts etc. And with TS3 supporting plugins, I bet we will have customized voice changing and we may well get the oxygen mask filter .

Oh, and if roger wilco was the last comm program you tried, my god you're missing out, that program was like talking into a can and string compared to TS.

That would be cool. If you find out someone made the plugins work that way, please post something about it.

I don't think the oxygen mask filter would see much use.

I find it difficult enough already to understand some people with lousy mics or thick accents in the heat of combat.

Artificially making voice quality worse just doesn't sound like my cup of tea.

I've always wanted the ability to set up whispers for each server you have in your server list. It really gets to be a pain to keep switching whispers whenever you go into another server.
