I suspect probably the Finnish have the best online fighter pilots....seems to be the trend

I agree with Worf, the best online pilots generally are located somewhere in gunrange on my six.

With that out of the way I second Latin America, especially Brazil.

I dont know what you guys are doin down there (teaching ACM in preschool?)

Whatever the case I meet a disproportionite amount of above average pilots who hail from Brazil.

As far as the secret uber Russian mystery pilots who dont have time to doddle with the lesser beings on hyperlobby......whatever.

There are all kinds of private servers catering to all kinds of personal preferences and nationalities, its not a Russian exclusive.

Anyone who has taken the time to get really good at IL2 is competitive and are going to seek the biggest playing field with the most adversaries which for some time has been hyperlobby.

There are definetley quite a few highly skilled Russian pilots out there but from where I sit currently the Latin American guys have got the edge.

This is just my opinion based on my experience.

As do the Czech's and Slovak's and for that matter Greek and Italian.


Its a bit of a silly survey and the results will probably satistically match where people come from.

Here are a few of the flaws I can see -

1) better pilots tend to come from good squadrons not particular countries

2) most of the time you have no idea where someone is from in HL ... for all you know P47_ACE_USAAF may actually be a Latvian

3) the non english speaking communities/squads often fly in their own servers are hence under-represented on general HL dogfight servers

4) some of the BEST pilots around either no longer fly online or only turn up in squad servers co-ops and onlne wars

This is so right. Many of the best pilots I remember flying against are no longer seen on HL and there doesn't seem to be nearly as much Suomi, Magyar or Russian chat in HL as there used to be.

I've flown with most of them in Airforce War,and yes they're very good.

By continent might have been more useful.

Sure good pilots come from all over.... but some of the best that smoked me were from Europe as I remember.

I think most countries have their fair share of experienced virtual pilots , it seems that there are more Europeans (squads) flying the sim but it's just an impression . The two best virtual fighter pilots I know are a Norwegian (not myself!) and an Englishman. Then again, my experience is rather limited.

Well i haven't met 60 US aces yet,but i met various times a Schwarm of finns and we sweaped the skies in AW for 20 mins.And more than one Schwarm.
And of course met more than One finn ace.

BTW if i was you,i would not rely on informtaion provided by Wikipedia.

ps:I'm talking about finnish pilots who fly for the Axis side,and US pilots who fly for the allied.

It does work that way, it's the meaning of "per head" after all. Only that it should be 4 Chinese and 3 Indian aces.
