My new headset I'm going to get at Best Buy shortly.

When I get it (today) will you guys tell me how to use it?

Is this the right kind?

Thanks

It looks as if it will do the job, Owl.

You can pay a lot more for a headset, but for use with TeamSpeak, this should be good enough.

It's a USB port plugged one, so you'll "enjoy" the 'sonic radar' [listen to the foes' and friends' engines from a long distance]. And like mine, the only thing you have to do is plug the headset and tell your O.S. that you´ll be using them from now on. On XP - my O.S. - 'Start'_'Control Panel'_'Audio and Sound Devices'_'Audio' Tab_Scroll down 'Sound Reproduction' and select your headset. Hit 'Accept' or/and 'Apply' several times and you're done. That's, at least, all I do before hitting the "Il-2.exe" icon in my desktop and join the party.

Alright I got it. Anyone want to test it out on a TS server with me?

One review says that the headset isn't even USB like it says, which means it wont work with teamspeak seperating the comms from the game.

I would totally get these:

They really look the part, but they aren't USB! Angry Blue Guy

Search for "headsets":

http://www.barnstormers.com/cat.php?mode=search

Buy you one of these:

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/...pages/audiopilot.php

Or one of these:

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/...ages/pctoheadset.php

That is what I do when I practice on FS2004.

Then you have a real aviation headset you can use if you ever actually start real flying AND something that will hold its value to sell if you decide. It will last forever too if you take care of them and has much better sound.

All the best,

Crumpp

Surprised

I guess I am....

You can actually log FS2004 time. I got ~20 hours simulator time in my logbook when I was going for my IA.

You have to have the controller set up like the aircraft and fly profiles under the supervision of an instructor.
