Havent looked at the wiki article so not sure if this is old news, but Fraulein Reitsch was very keen on setting up a German suicide squadron similar to the Japanese kamikazes with the the aim of brining down US bombers. The idea didnt go down too well with the Luftwaffe but she apparently volunteered to carry out the first swuicide mission.

I came here to read the news about the SOW update, but I seen this thread and would like to add the following Smile...

I am Yum_Yum (a female) who has been flying Focke Wulf 190's in this game very regularly since at least 2003.
I use the following servers, UK dedicated War Clouds, Wings Over Europe, FSNF-DF-Server, and maybe 1 or 2 others.

My own Claims to fame are that I was part of a team which helped UK Dedicated servers win the "Server Wars" competition, I flew the Focke Wulf 190 to help the player Mysticpuma make the movie "NOT MY TIME TO DIE", I also participated in the "INTERNATIONAL ONLINE COMPETITION, I would have also participated in anual TIGER MEETS if I did'nt have to take my PC with me !!!
Autographs later please Clap

In the past I found this game to be very male dominated, most male players refusing to believe that female players were playing and thought they were males pretending to be females !!!. It was from that moment that I decided not to disclose that I was a female player, play only by chat, and play quietly without dissclosing or sharing information such as enemy contacts etc etc.

Some of the odd things I have read in the chatbox ..
After damaging a P51 (it was smoking after my attack) ..the player typed "come back and fight like a man" Surprised
I overshot a spitfire which I had tryed to attack and kept my speed high in order to outrun it, the spitfire followed and typed "don't run like a girl" Mean Happy... after I realised the spitfire burned out it's engine I turned back towards it and shot it down, the player then typed "loser" Blink

I had alway kept my identity secret ... until CrazyIvan (forum moderator) found out I was female and let everyone know. I then left these forums seeking a place where no one know I was female, and a place in which I could start again, Warclouds Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin.

Now I don't hide my girlishness because I just see myself as a virtual being in cyberspace with other virtual beings, neither female nor male, so it realy does not matter what or who you are.

I am Yum Yum, female Focke Wulf 190 player saying hello to everyone, now please get over it !
c u in the sky's sometime soon.

Luv 'n' Stuff

Very nice to find someone like you, Yum_Yum!

Guess I understand your feelings about not reveal your identity.

I found play with girls very nice. As fly with a female pilot is always a unique experience. Altough I hate the childish behavior that a lot of male players have regarded to fly with girls.

You know, stupid actions like, because they know you're a girl, they're all would try give you especial cover. Sometimes at point to ruin the whole team effectiveness. Also, absurd insistently to try become your friends, ask to join their squadrons, etc.

I love play with girls, but this ridiculous common behavior used to driving me nuts. It's a member of our team, and we are a team. A squadron should have equal teamwork among the pilot's. Unless you're the leader, of course. Wink

Happens in all areas. For example, I play RPG, and when I go to RPG conventions it's very rare not see this kind of behavior. Male players clearly given privileges (sometimes at absurd points) to females characters.

Of course this not occur in all servers. And if that's the case admins are just there for enforced basic respect rules.

But always keep flying Yum_Yum. You should nevermore hide you're a girl. And should be very pround for that.

Congratulations!

I think it's pretty offensive use this term of question for females, but anyway, I just are in doubt because I never heard anything about this.

Oh please, enough of the gorifying of women self-pleasing crap. they`re just humans like the rest of us. they discrimate, they objectify, yep, they`re just as sinful as we men.

The women who fly this sim online, fly predominantly on servers where there are crutches like outside views and icons, I guess they need them to I.D. aircraft, and to look around the server to see where their opponents are.

Maybe they lack the cognitive ability to I.D. aircraft by shape, and maybe they lack the reasoning ability that would let them find prey without being shown where it is with outside views?

When you can show me a chick that can get to the top of the stats on a server with hard-settings I will give them a pat on the back, but it ain't happened......

I flew on the DOLT SarahZooms server before years ago, she said I must be cheating because I was shooting her and everyone else down without her obligatory I-185/La-7/etc., I told her my cheat was: BRAINS. Which unfortunately she could not download and install......

Or maybe they shoot you down all the time, but would rather not have to put up with getting this sort of nonsense if they were to reveal it to you. I doubt very much they'd want a pat on the back anyway.

Just because someone can use words like 'cognative ability' doesn't indicate any real use of it, as you have just illustrated. If you were to base your arguments on scientific evidence rather than uniformed bigotry it might be worth debating, but I somewhat doubt if you are capable of that.

And BTW, there has already been much discussion in this thread on female real-world pilots: what 'cognative ability' is it that you think they lack?

EDIT -----

Crash_Moses (post below) is right of course....

Though a joke I will say this....

I cannot count the number of men that become furious when I shoot them down. Some even holding it as a grudge so long they utilize the F2+F6 cheat and make it a point to hunt me specifically EVERY mission they fly with me from there on out, that by their own admission.

In kind after a fight the comments win or lose are often very negative to nasty ranging from excuses to any loss, to even being called names as vulgar as f*cking c*nt and so on, and on wins stating all they can to slam me no matter how tore up they and their buddies are after a long fight.

That's okay though......as some males I guess judge their masculinity by a game.....It's good to be the Boss "Bull-cow" Wink2

"feminine" IL2 public? Are there poofta's buzzing around the virtual skies or something?

From the gist of this thread, I take it you mean females - the words are related, but the connotations of the former are quite different these days. Veryhappy

Probably, though I doubt very much they would let on if they are. Anyone else we haven't insulted in this topic?

BTW, quite a few 'pooftas' served with the forces during WW2. Along with women, ethnic minorities, illegal immigrants, commies, vegetarians, sandal-wearing god-botherers, people with ginger hair, teetotallers, alcoholics and people who actually know the meaning of the word 'feminine'.

I don't know what well happened to me when wrote that.

All that post was a big mistake of mine. It was really exaggerated. But I already raise the white flag guys. Tongue

As if the commie avatar wasn't a dead giveaway. You leftists are damned annoying, and SO easy to spin up.

Feminine does NOT mean "female", it means female-like - ie, a person who IS or ACTS or APPEARS feminine - that COULD be a female, or just as likely it could be a male.

Put the Marx down and go get some salve for where it hurts, ya daft prancer.

Amongst other things, 'feminine' DOES mean 'female' Razz

Put the Daily Mail down and get some cream for your piles, ya daft troll. Googly
