Would an AMD 1200 with 500 mb RAM be considered sufficient to use as a dedicated server? -I have one sitting in the closet right now. If not, any upgrade suggestions for this machine?

You can host like up to 14+host depending on connection
V! Regards, VFC*Crazyivan aka VFC*HOST http://www.rmutt.netfirms.com/vfc/home.htm Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down. |

^ how did you determine that?
i've got these parts leftover from my last upgrade. 1ghz AMD Athlon & Asus A7V mobo 512mb PC-133 SDRAM sounblaster live geforce4mx will probably get a case for it, a hardrive, cheap CDROM, and upgrade the RAM to 1gig. ---------------------------------------------- My IL2 movies:

quote: I use to HOST on PIII 800 with 512 of SD RAM. Was good for 16+HOST, nice and smooth - anything above was kind of pushing it. And also i tried AMD 1.2 - i beleve it was Tbird, it was ok, but worse then PIII, 14+host was optimal.. But alot of things will depend on your connection.... V! ok so this is the wierd thing. Even when i have my server in the dmz zone it still times out when connecting. Should i be adding autodetectip=0 into the confs.ini to fix the problem. This is the only thing not working. FBDaemon works a treat, it's just the server keeps picking up the local ip not my external ip

Save settings first so you can check mark difficulty settings again and hit start game.
HL will display them correctly if you launch that way. |

quote: I think I copied that folder, cant say for sure as I´m not at the place where my server is now. Will check monday, but I think I´ll have to try Bogey´s suggestion. Thanks guys. s/JG54_ded42/43 should be visible in HL anyways, but with a surprise in difficulty settings [This message was edited by JG54_Arnie on Sat May 29 2004 at 04:10 AM.] |

Cheers. |

fixed my problem by specifying the local ip in confs.ini

one other problem i am having is hyperlobby is timing out when server is empty. Is there a way around this problem ?

quote: I am not aware of this mate - Hyperlobby tends to go down here and there - so could be just that. V!
