Peshka in Russian is a pawn Mean Happy

JB Hi Fi in Sydney has it. EB does as well, although it seems to have only ordered 2 or 3 copies per store.

I picked it up around the 17th, so it should of filtered out by now.

I live in the US and the copy I got today says very plainly on the back cover of the plastic box: "Made in Australia".

Almost sounds like some sort of sick joke. Heh, still though, distribution is notoriously shoddy out here, particulary to store fronts.

I'll keep an eye out for it.

The metals used to make the US superchargers were scarce at the beginning of the war therefore the P-39 & P-40 did not receive them. This is what hurt their high altitude performance with the Allison Engines. The P-400 had no oxygen bottles and could not operate above 12,000 feet except by the rarest of pilots (14,000 feet tops) due to the lack of oxygen at those altitudes. These planes sacrificed the installation of a super charger so that planes like the Wildcat, Hellcat, Corsair would get the superchargers and planes like the Thunderbolt, Lightning and Mustang got turbo superchargers as well as many of the bomber and attack aircraft. As of 4.05m the US P-39's & P-40's do not have superchargers and if 4.07m put them in the US and Commonwealth P-40's they are incorrect.
I can't speak with any authority about any of the field modified P-40M-105 by the Russians, but I have to take Oleg's word that these modified engines had superchargers. As of 4.05m this is the only P-40 with a manual super charger.

And to be a bit technical:

This applies to USAAF & USN & USMC Aircraft equipped with manually controlled super chargers:

Game: Actual:
Super Charger Position 1 = Neutral Blower
Super Charger Position 2 = Low Blower
Super Charger Position 3 = High Blower

The below listed setting are directly off official USN training films that can be seen for free at Zeno's Warbird Site. I have watched the F4U, F6F, P-38, P-39 & P-40 films. The P-38 had an automatic Supercharger, P-39 & P-40 have no supercharger nor turbo supercharger. As you can see below the super charger switching altitudes are different from those written into the read me files of the game for the Corsairs and Hellcats. If you use the read me files for the two below listed aircraft you will be under powering your plane as you climb higher in the game. Another note is that F4U-1 did not have water injection (as it does in the game), it came out with the F4U-1A. The Corsair I (British export version of the F4U-1) never saw any combat because when folded the wings were too tall for the hangar decks on their aircraft carriers and most stayed in the State of Maine @ Bruswich NAS. The British took the Corair II (F4U-1A) with clipped wings (and all subsequent British Corsairs) into combat against the Tirpitz. The F6F-3 had no water injection (maybe some late production line F6F-3's had it) and it only had two flap positions (but has water injection and multiple flap settings in the game) (see the Zeno Warbird Film). The F6F-5 had the water injection and I can't say with authority how many flap positions it had.

F4U-1/CorsairI,F4U-1A,F4U-1C,F4U-1D,CorsairII,CorsairIV

Power Ratings while climbing:

@ Sea Level Neutral Blower 2700 RPM 53.5"Hg Military Rated Power Climb (3000 FPM) 5 Minute Maximum then you must switch to
Normal Rateed Power 2550 RPM 43.5"Hg Normal Rated Power Climb (2000 FPM)
@ 8000 Feet Low Blower 2550 RPM 47.5"Hg Normal Rated Power Climb (2000 FPM)
@ 13,500 Feet High Blower 2550 RPM 48.0"Hg Normal Rated Power Climb (2000 FPM)

F6F-3, F6F-5

Power Ratings while climbing:

@ Sea Level Neutral Blower 2700 RPM 52.5"Hg Military Rated Power climb (3000 FPM) 5 Minutes Maximum then you must switch to
Normal Rated Power 2550 RPM 44.0"Hg Normal Rated Power Climb (2000 FPM)
@ 5500 Feet Low Blower 2550 RPM 49.5"Hg Normal Rated Power Climb (2000 FPM)
@ 15,400 Feet High Blower 2550 RPM 49.5"Hg Normal Rated Power Climb (2000 FPM)

To get 2550 RPM in the game your prop pitch needs to be around 92-94%. I mapped my throttle wheel on my CH Fighter Stick for Prop Pitch Control. If you map a button to increase or decrease the prop pitch it will change by 5% increments and let you get to either 2600 or 2500 RPM. My CH Pro Throttle is mapped for Power/Throttle.

The movies talk about Power settings and rates of climb and mentions the approximate speeds you will climbing at for the given power settings.
I have tested the real specifications and they do work correctly in the game, in other words you see the same results for example when using these setting in the F4U-1 Corsair. In the game at 8000 Feet you are at full throttle (100%) and the manifold pressure cannot be increased more than 43.5"Hg unless you use water injection. When you shift to Low Blower/Position 2 it jumps up to over 50"Hg and you can throttle back to 47.5"Hg manifold pressure which is approximately 88% Throttle. At 13,500 feet you once again hit 100% Throttle, shift to High Blower/Position 3 and you can now maintain 48"Hg at around 90% Throttle gradually increasing throttle until you reach 100% around 22,000 Feet. I never burn out an engine using these settings and always have HP to spare when needed for the maximum amount of time (overheat warning) before engine damage occurs. This may make the difference of the bad guy hurting his engine before you in a chase or climbing out because the bad guy made his set up based on your current speed/power settings.

You can tinker with the settings to use, gaming the game (see how much you can push the settings for this game and not hurt your engine) so to speak as was mentioned by another player in a completely different thread.

Be forwarned with the F4U-1D & Corsair IV, the fuel gage is not correct. It is off by at least 25%. You never indicate 100 percent fuel ever even if you take drop tanks. I haven't received my 4.07m copy from GoGamer yet so this may have been fixed, but probably not since it was reported almost two years ago and we have had 4 to 5 patches since the initial bug report.

Hope this is helpful. Wink

Hello. I was wondering, on IL-2 1946 is it possible to man the guns on a B-17F IN the quick mission builder?

Or atleast be the bomber?

ALIENWARE A CRIMINAL COMPANY

I purchased an Alienware area 51-M 766 Laptop on 05/12/2004 and I paid three thousand dollars for it. It was advertised as a laptop with an upgradeable video card and it was considered to be the top of the line gaming notebook and had with some fantastic reviews winning numerous awards and gained a great deal of recognition from industry professionals and technology experts. The laptop should last many years and the main idea is the video card could be changed or upgraded. I thought I bought the best notebook on the market, but I was sadly mistaken. After a year and half, I called Alienware so I could purchase a new upgraded video card, and I was told that Alienware stop supporting my laptop and my video card. I was also told that I have to purchase a video card from a third party called “Uniwill” if I wanted an upgrade. So I called the third party company but no one picked up the phone and I left several messages and they never called me back. I was very surprised that I was unable to get an upgradeable video card. I was also very disappointed to find that so soon I was unable to get what was so strongly advertised and promised. If this isn’t false advertising and false promises made to customers then I don’t know what else is but afterwards I gave up calling and continue to use the notebook. I never thought I would have trouble with it but on November 23, 2007 the video card completely burned out. I contacted Alienware shortly afterwards to ask them if I could purchase any type of video card that would simply just work (forget about gaming or upgrading) so I could at least use the notebook. Unfortunately Alienware stop supporting and making any type of video card for my laptop, and I was told to call “Uniwill” once again to purchase a video card and once again I called, left messages and I never received a return call. I wonder if Uniwill is a prefabricated company created and owned by Alienware to prevent lawsuits. I also researched the Internet; eBay and tried to see if someone out there had anything I could possibly use, but all I found was a very long line of Blogs, many hate websites with a massive amount of posted threads of complaints of many unsatisfied and unhappy Alienware customers who where ripped off and lied to by a company filled with false advertisements, promises, and deceit. I purchased a three thousand dollar Alienware paperweight, and now I've joined a long line of unsatisfied customers.

----------------------------------
If you have something to say say it in your own thread, and inthe Off Topic room, don't drag out old threads, and hide behind them to speak your mind.

It appears to be as cowardly, as your accusations are.

Now that I've seen you do it twice, Goodbie.
