Very impressive. Pointe du Hoc looks great. The airfields look much more life like.

I love all your unique airfields..

Not Channel ...but I actually was given a diagram of a real airfield from Mingladon, Burma to copy .... very hard to find anything for the theatre of my Thai/Burma/Indo-china map.

Information on the map can be found at the 352nd Virtual Fighter Group Site. We can't post links here, but it is easy to find. There is a special section in our forum devoted to news of the map.

The map is being painfully and lovingly created by a team of very skilled folks ... attention to detail is paramount and we won't release the map until we are completely satisfied that every base works exactly as intended. No rough runways, broken spawn points, etc. As you can imagine, it's a lot of work to make such a large map right.

This map is projected to be the first of three (and the smallest). The other two will be much larger and encompass most of the ETO, although detail will intentionally be left sp**** because of the size of the maps.

We don't know how this map will play on "weaker" systems .. that remains to be seen. It might well turn out that we are pushing boundaries here and some might not be able to use the map. We won't know until we try it.

There is no projected release date because we don't know when it will be completed, and our present plans are to *not* release a beta ... better to wait and do it right, we think.

Edit, good grief, the "censors" took out a word that contained a string ... egads. "Sp**** " was intended ... means "thinly detailed".

Thanks all, still going to be a little bit before we are completed but making great progress.

Fruitbat great to see you! Will post the Dover remakes soon. Have made the changes to map_c along with a couple others, castle has been moved, but still need to finish adjusting textures, but will have them soon. Been busy with building bases and cliffs. Wink2

Many thanks,
Booze

Superb stuff.
I especially like the Pointe du Hoc cliff scenery. This must have taken a lot of adjustment to get just right given the limitations of the game engine.

Are we going to be able to use this map for single player campaigns?

Great graphics there.

Thanks all, appreciate the feedback. Smile

T_O_A_D glad you could join us was great flying with you.

Fruitbat thanks, and no worries my friend, Its all good! The map continues. Will post those pics asap, glad you found us.

Asheshouse, thanks. Has been a bit tricky getting those cliffs the way we want them, but they are coming along.

Chris0382 yes, should be able to use this one all around.

Friendly_flyer, thanks for the compliment but I suspect Oleg is doing fine and has a crack Team putting together BoBSoW and does not need help from us Old Farts. LOL! But we're trying to do the best we can and have some fun with these maps for now. Smile

Cheers,
Booze
