So now we're running this game at far higher resolutions than when it first came out, the default backgrounds are looking a bit shabby as they are very low resolution images.
It's easy to create your own! Take a high resolution image (some of the ones in the "High Rez Screen Shots - Part 4" thread would be worthy. IMO your image must be at least 1680x1050 to be worth using. Open your favourite image editing tool and crop it to the unusual size of 1536 wide by 1024 high. Resize the image to 1024 x 1024. Save it as a TGA file (Irfanview is a free app that can handle TGA files) named background.tga and move it to any nationality campaign folder ie. C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Missions\Campaign\GB Just thought I'd share this in case others weren't aware or hadn't considered it. |
