It has been a year since our good friend, leader of our virtual squad, and at least for us, THE BEST virtual pilot of all, left us by very unfortunate accident.
CSL_Kocour left behind his wife, one year old daughter and last but not least us, friends in his own and other squads, while doing something he loved, something we all tend towards in our minds at least – flying.
The video we present here is really not meant to compete with all those fantastic il2 videos and movies appeared on the net during the years of existence of this simulation in any aspect. The most of all it is a tribute for Kocour to keep him remembered not only by his closest friends but all who knew him only as a nickname and to put the face behind it.
We still feel crushed by this loss, we truly miss his enthusiasm and fantastic leadership and astonishment from watching his achievements during flying.
Rest in peace, Kocour.

I hope that his family may be heartened by the responses here and wonder if there is more that can be done?

I find it hard to believe that I did not leave a comment in this thread last year. I don't know what happened there.
I would now like to say that it is always very sad to see someone here pass on.

I haven't played much at all lately.
I didn't realised he'd died.

I remember meeting him online in the past, which makes me feel like I knew him well, and which makes this shocking news (even if it is old news).
I also remember he had a wealth of knowledge when it came to WWII aircraft, which showed through his contributions to the forum.

Always a sad day when the community loose one of it's members. My condolences to family and friends.

EDIT: I see now that this thread is a year old and I salute you guys for keeping the memory of Kocour alive. A great movie tribute - touching and it really comes through that you miss him.
Cheers!

A good aviator in reality and virtually. This guy really lived his passion.

This was a well done tribute to him. The mk108 salute on the runway was a nice touch.

All honor and respect.
