I too would love to see 'Goerings Duck/Torch' ingame; preferabley 1946~ v4.10?) It would be a tough beast to kill assuming you missed the oil coolers. Minddue, if it was ever pilotable assuming its ever ingame, it would be a pain in the neck trying to shutdown 1 half of DB610/612.

Even the He 177B/277 as a 1946/47' option; with lesser flamability and 177A-5's (or is it the A-7's?) extra fire extinguishers...

But allas I believe I am ranting a dream.

I've often pondered a P-38 with a jet conversion.

Yeah would be nice, in German that plane was called the "Reichs Feuerzeug" which says all about this plane. It would have been a great plane if it didn´t have those engine problems.
Boom and zoom on that thing could be rather leady! Nice would be also the so called "Amerika Bomber" although it never went beyond prototypes.
Sad

You know.... we are a weird bunch. lol

I too am "sad" that a lot of ideas and prototypes never made it to see combat (on all sides, but the Axis had the more interesting ones, honestly - Luft'46, IJ secret weapons and modified versions of 262 and 163, that hot-rod Fiat that was canned only because of production times but showed promise of better performance than LW counterparts, etc), HOWEVER... I don't for one second want the war to have turned out differently.

lol, I dunno, just kinda struck me when I saw your post - I'm with you, and yet, have to be glad that they didn't at the same time. Smile

Sorry, can't help it but ROFL a plane that first locks it's own elevators even while climbing and then tucks under!

OTOH the postwar British IIRC Vultee Vampire and (EDIT) the Venom (50's?) did have the booms.

When people take a plane out to see what it can do they really find what they can do with it.

If i could restore a Razorback P-47D and add the updated components of the M or even see if the power house of the P-72 could be fitted to the airframe.

Might turn out like this.

Includes modified art from Osprey's "P-47 Thunderbolt Aces of the Ninth and Fifteenth Air Forces"
