Accuracy of these early cockpits is always debatable, but the
level those screens show
looks pretty
awesome.
In my opinion, if the flight models are anywhere close to
realistic, these additions are just superb.
Creating missions for these, well the options are almost endless.
Realistic scenarios, basicly Korea come to mind, and
also many what-if possibilities,
for example "Cold war gone hot" or some WWII-continuation scenarios...
too much to imagine.
As much we need the fighters for post-WWII action, also bombers and
reconnassaince planes would be nice.
Certain planes, however,
are so huge and complicated (B-36 for example) that I
doubt they will ever be fully modelled with all their systems in any game.
Even when I know the site where you can find all this goodness, I'm not telling it to anyone.

That F-86 pit in the works looks great. I think they are using the Mig-9 pit for the Mig-15, which is actually quit passable. The early Migs did have similar cockpits.

That's fantastic. Always enjoyed chasing Leit's communist sky chariot in my beautious F-86 airframe of freedom in Flight Simulator X, now there's the opportunity to blow his red *** to bits as well.

I'm glad they are finally becoming usable, and am waiting till the UI and 409 are compatible. By then, hopefully the P-80A as gibbage submitted it will be with them; Tip tanks and speed brakes with a slight FM mod of the YP80, and a bit more reliable engine, and it's a new Post war fighter.

A little more modification, and the F-80C can be had as was used in korea. I keep hinting around at this, as this AC is really going to waste as it is in the sim. I still can't figure why 46 wasn't released with the A model as Gibbage designed it, as it would have been an easy addition.

Even as it is, it's my fav ride in the sim. I can't make these things, but I can sure make misns and cmpns for them.

The F-80s you mention exist over at SAS, it's down now but it should be up at some point. You need to use their buttons file that includes basically all flight models in existance.

Prepare to have your ego royally handed to you if you fly the Sabre. While historically the Mig 15 was faster and had a better climb and ceiling in game its a slaughter with the Migs seemingly untouchable as you can never get higher or faster. And even if you have an altitude advantage they seem to just point their noses up and rocket away.

Hard to enjoy since it feels like your flying a P-11 vs P-51...Always chasing but never catching.

IRL the MiG-15 suffered from some handling problems at high Mach number, whereas the F-86 could be taken supersonic (downhill) with relatively little drama.

Since IL2 is very bad at transonic effects, the MiG-15's advantage is regrettable but predictable.
