2 minutes ago the Lancaster flew directly over my house at just a few hundred feet.

What a fantastic sight and the sound was incredible.

Gonna have to go find an airshow now Smile

Cheers

It happens to me at every Farnborough air show few times over with the spit and hurri in formation, the thing I love is the smell!

Yeah, happened to me a few years ago it was in formation with the memorial flight partners - messrs spit and hurri, sounded fantastic, thought it was the usual police chopper going over till the sound just got louder and louder and the 'whole shack shimmied', awesome Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Saw it last year in Manchester on Veteran's Day. I was stuck in a dull meeting at the top of some high rise hotel and it flew past us at about the same height. All the men in suits (myself included) stopped what we were discussing and dashed to the window for a better look. It's an awesome sight!

I used to live on top of a hill in Aldershot, great place to be when the're around! I couldn't believe how low they were flying.

An Apache Helicopter flew very low over me yesterday as I was near Matlock, Derbyshire.

"Over Dieppe, the wing was immediately bounced by a hundred FW 190s and a few Me 109s. I heard Johnson effing and blinding as he broke 610 into a fierce attack. I was hard at it dodging 190s, but I found time to speak sharply to Johnson about his foul language." - WingCo Jaime Jameson 12 Group Spitfire

An Apache would be cool, I get those twin rotor jobbies (Chinooks ?) all the time.
It's a bit of a pain when there are 3 or 4 of them, stuff falls of shelves and my place feels like it's gonna rattle off down the hill.

Cheers

It is always a great experience when one of these large birds flies over like that.
I assume that you didn't have time to grab a camera.

@Xiolablu
The Apache is a very comforting thing when you have a pair following you around in case things get a little dicey Shady

It baffles me why it never made it into the plane-set. What a great bomber!
