It seems that my RAF ranks are messed up in some way... in my ongoing campaign it says that I received ultimate medal (Victoria Cross) but when I click on medals to display it it shows only 6th: Companion of the Order of the Bath...
Something went wrong.
Can someone verify whether these are correct or not (I took them from award.properties);

0 Mention in Dispatches
1 Air Force Cross
2 Distinguished Flying Cross
3 Bar to the Distinguished Flying Cross
4 Distinguished Service Order
5 Bar to the Distinguished Service Order
6 Companion of the Order of the Bath
7 Victoria Cross

It is possible that I messed something up when installed some mods.

Here's a pic:

Please can someone post default RAF medals?

They are located in \IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Missions\Campaign\GB folder in file award.properties.

You can open it in Notepad Smile .

Thanks!

I hate to say this, but the medal shown here is the Air Force Medal of Honor which was not being awarded during WW2, since the Air Force was then the Army. You should replace this with the Army Medal of Honor.

If you fly for the Navy or Marines then it will look like this...

The Army Medals issued during the beginning of WW2 and all of WW1 were of the Gilespie type, looking like this...

This one was probably issued during WW1.
Some of the Gilespie type medals were hung from a neck ribbon. There is a photo of such a medal being worn by Richard Bong here...

Wow!
Thanks for the info!

I guess it's ok then... I must have made my mark in all that F4U strafing of Iwo Jima Mean Happy .

On a serious note, that last...

...medal was then mistakenly put into USMC folder.

Thumbs Up

What is this 7th RAF award 1939 - 1945 Star? Is it historical?

Thanks some it is more clear now...
However, this medal doesn't suit in game at all...
Criteria are;

"RAF air crew will qualify with 60 days service in an operational unit including at least one operational sortie.

Air crew of fighter aircraft engaged in the Battle of Britain between 10 July and 31 October 1940 were awarded the Clasp ‘Battle of Britain’ to be worn on the ribbon of the 1939-45 Star."

Since time is effectively only criteria to achieve it, I fail to see how that can work in game... Confused I doubt the game recognizes that.
Let alone the reason why is this award 7th, like it is tougher to achieve than Victoria Cross... Confused
