I bought the retail dvd version. it installed fine, i mt the requirments and it updated. when i started up the game it gets past the unreal logo screen and starts loading. but it never goes anywhere after that. I cntrl-alt-delete and bring up tsk mngr and rsv2 isnt responding..... ne ideaS?

I don't know if this would help you but my son-in-law was able to get to the map loading screen and then it would freeze.
He had 1 GB of memory which is supposed to meet minimum requirements, but I had him install 2 GB and now it works.

I even setup a server and he was able to join and play last night for the first time.

The sound bugs .. missing Ai gunfire, etc. were still there and some lag even with a 60 ping, but everything else seemed to be okay!

He was able to run Vegas 1 with 1 GB without a problem .. so it seems Vegas 2 requires more memory, at least on some systems.

I have 2gb and it does the same thing. Its a laptop and I know the go series is not supported however, but I figured since Vegas ran fine on the laptop 2 would work as well. Wrong, 3 hrs later over 2 dozen blue screens of death, numerous general protection faults, Several can't find dvd errors. One teaser menu load only to crash. Updated all drivers, and nothing, guess its back to try the desktop another day

I really didn't want to use my desktop it turns the room into an inferno.

I've the same problems in a desktop pc. general protection fault and severals problems like freeze...

same problem here , the game freeze while its loading and something like general protection fault =,=

Me too. I have alot of freezing/lock up screens recently.

yeah after awhile I started getting these too but I didn't have them at first. I think it it's a self destruct program they put in the game that would initiate after a set amount of time, if they couldn't provide a patch for all the other errors and needed to abandon all hope.

There are some maps that are unstable and will cause screen freeze on reload.

Just do a search on screen freeze.
