Ok, so i've got the game installed and patched, and it runs and plays fine, up until whenever I die. Whenever I hit 'load last checkpoint' the game crashes. Most of the time if I then restart the game, it won't load if I hit continue. Obviously i've not gotten very far because of this.

I'm running this on a laptop, Vista, T7400 Core 2 Duo @ 2.2ghz, Mobility Radeon X1600, 2GB RAM. All the latest drivers and so forth, but I don't think any of that's the issue.

Anyone have/had this problem, and know if it's fixable?

I have exactly the same problem, but i've only had the game for a couple of days so do not have any fix and have no idea why it is occuring.

Notebook, Intel Core 2, T7200 @ 2.00GHz, @GB Ram, Vista SP1, ATI Mobility Radeon X1700

I cant even get to first scene. Keep getting "Protection Fault" and then crashes computer. Tried for 2 weeks now. I'm Ready to get my monet back

it sounds like it can't properly access your profile. are you playing as a limited user on your system?

you have to reinstall the game
save your profile first

Nope, i'm playing as the administrator and i've made sure to set all .exe files to run as administrator but I have the same problem. Any other ideas?

I turned off anti-aliasing and voice recognition and changed shadows to low quality.

Now the game does not crash when i reload the check point but still crash if i 'exit to main menu'.

Also interesting is that my player is randomly directing the other team mates e.g. 'over there','hold up', 'stack up' etc even when i'm not touching the keyboard!!! (also note that voice recognition is turned off!!!!

re-installing the game did not change anything. I'm have the latest 1.02 patch installed - i get a GPF and can't even load the game without installing the patch.

oh, i'm also running as the administrator with AUC turned off.
