Assuming that you are properly trying to log in, aka: using a separate UBI.com account for your server, the "Login failed: OPERATION FAILED" message can be due to the fact that the evenbalance.com servers (punkbuster global servers) are not able to reach your server.

For this to be done properly, the settings in your pbsv.cfg file have to be set up properly...

  • The IP address you specify in the cfg file has to be your internet IP, not your LAN IP. Use a site like www.ipchicken.com to figure out your Internet IP (aka WAN IP). THIS is the IP address you must specify in the pbsv.cfg file.

  • You also have to make sure that the port that you specified in the pbsv.cfg is properly forwarded on your router. Basically, if your server computer on your network has the LAN IP 192.168.0.3 and the port you specified on the cfg is port 8080, then on your router you will need to forward port 8080 to 192.168.0.3:8080.

  • Also make sure to disable the SPI Firewall on your router, if it has one...
It is normally meant to block OoB packets, and seeing as PB uses ONLY OoB packets you will need to disable this to avoid your pb server from kicking everyone...

I highly recommend reading the R6VegasServerReadme.txt file at root of your rainbow six Vegas 2 installation folder.
