can anyone help me...i know a lot of people were having this problem is there any fix to it?

yes lots of people are having this (including me), but still, you need to completely explain the error, or this thread is just as useful as me starting one saying "OMG IT HAPPENS TO ME TOO!" |

Wow this thread is old... but I got the same problem I think, though I'm not sure. Whenever I get killed during a terrorist hunt and I have to restart the match, or I quit to menu, the game gives me some error message which I can't read because its stuck behind the game screen. Reading an error log it read general protection failure. I'm using a laptop with a mobility radeon x2300 HD. It said after I installed it that my video card wasn't supported, though the game works just fine (on low quality). But I don't think this is a video problem. Does anyone know how to fix this? I can't keep playing because the game crashes after every round.

You don't mention your laptop configuration except for video.
Also, what OS are you running. |

Right..where to start. Easiest thing would be to give you a complete list though I'm not sure. I got an fujitsu siemens amilo pi 2530. I've got vista home premium. Intel core 2 duo cpu t7100 (1.80 Ghz), 2046 mb RAM. Any other things that could be helpful?

Sorry this took so long but left Nov. 9th. on a cruise for 5 days and just getting caught up.
You laptop is really on the low end of what will run this game, and since the HD 2300 card isn't supported you will have problems. You might try updating video drivers to see if that will help, and maybe sound drivers also. Set Antialiasing to None and turn everything else to low or off. The only other thing I can think of that might help would be to update Direct X. It probably won't help, but can't hurt. I just posted instructions in another thread, so it will be easier to just lead you to it: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1031415/m/4911027208 Good luck, but don't expect to much out of that laptop. |

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I dont have too much hope for it though. I know its probably just that my laptop can't handle it. Though another pc of mine which has worse specs for sure(dont got any specific data) is able to run it, and the video card of that one IS compatible..so its probably the card...I'll try the drivers, I'm already running it on low settings.
I'll let you know if it works out or not. Thanks either way. |

At this point, anything is worth a try, but unfortunately, low end laptops aren't designed so users can upgrade video cards.
There are some high end gaming laptops that are capable of doing this. Hope you find something that works for you. |

..sigh...didn't work...I was already running the latest drivers. Ah..too bad...I guess I'll be buying a new computer anyway within a year...this one is falling apart slow but steadily...
I don't know what else to do. I guess I'll give up... Thanks again for answering though. |

If you are capable of building a computer, you can put together nice gaming rig for $600-$800.
If you have the funds, you can go up from there. |
