I've been trying to get the microphone to work on the PC for a while now. I've tried a couple of things such as making sure the port itself isn't blocked by the anti-virus system I use and as well as enabling the option itself to hear incoming voices. But nothing seems to work to the point where I'm able to hear others call out orders online

Something to check!!

Go to control panel .. sound and audio devices.
Under the audio and voice tabs, make sure your settings are correct, and your mic isn't muted!
