Hi guys!
I'm trying to backup my profile as i need to reinstall my OS (Window XP), but I can't find the folder where my profile is saved. My RSV2 is saved in a different partition than my system files and I can't find it in all of the subdirectories in the game's folder. I also looked for it in My Documents, but it isn't there as well. By the way, I don't think this is relevant, but the version I'm using now is 1.01.74. I have sent an e-mail to Ubisoft Support about this concern, it took them 3 days to reply and all I got from them was "You will need to contact Microsoft". They're the ones who designed the game, right? So, why should we ask another company where Ubisoft saves the player profiles? There are so many things I'd like to say about their support, but I'd rather not. Anyway, if you guys know anything about the backing up of the character profiles, please reply. An advance BIG thanks! |

The Vegas 2 user folder is actually in a normal folder... *gasp*
My Documents\My Games\Ubisoft\R6Vegas2 [PROFILE1.DAT, PROFILE2.DAT, PROFILE3.DAT PlayerProfile.ini (Conatins CD Key) R6_EquipEquipmentTemplate, R6_SaveCHECKPOINT] Technically you can just back all this up. I was a little leery about backing up the R6GameConfig.bin file, so I left it alone. After you reinstall Windows and Vegas 2, just copy and paste all the files back into the R6Vegas2 folder; should be good to go. Your folder may look slightly different, but hopefully that gets you going. |

You profile should have worked. I have done this several times on different machines with no problem. Try removing your profile (PlayerProfile.ini) from this folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Default\My Documents\My Games\Ubisoft\R6Vegas2) and when you go online, it should ask for your key code. Just enter that, then log in with your user name and password. I have also done that successfully! |
