Ive just bought the game (pc version), everything installed/updated fine. Openned all the ports ubi's faq had outined todo so and even put my comp as a dmz. Everytime I try to join an online server it boots me out after the load up screen saying connection to host lost. Anyone have this issue and resolved it? thx in advance.

I've got the same problem! Connection To Host Lost! I can't connect to a server! I can't play online! That's really annoying! Come on Ubisoft Montreal, what did you do? Please fix it as soon as possible! All I can do is already done! I have no idea what else I can do!

I'm from Europe. I don't think it's a problem with the internet service provider. It must have something to do with this game and the server software. I can only connect to the server from squadgames! What did they do what other did not? All official Trinity and all other user servers are not working for me. I'm still really annoyed. I bought it to play online and now I can't. Thanks!

It makes me so disappointed once again. I am coming from HK. I can't collect it to online mode as well. I think it has already breached of law of contract (with description of product) here and I will seek (legal) advice or launch a official complain to Consumer Council in HK very soon.

I have received this too... so it hit ~ console to see whats up.. and I see a NUMEROUS amount of msg's reading:
When I load rainbow six vegas 2, I receive console messages reading: Punkbuster Server: CRITICAL ERROR: Cannot Load C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2\KellerGame\pb\pbcls.dll and Punkbuster Server: CRITICAL ERROR: Cannot Load C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2\KellerGame\pb\pbags.dll then they repeat over and over... I am guessing maybe everyone who is experiencing the connection to host problem is experiencing this as well? Does anyone actually HAVE these files in their PB folder??? |

UPnP doesn't have a darn thing to do with disconnects, if it did have something to do with it the game wouldn't connect to begin with and besides the Unreal 3 engine doesn't even use UPnP.
The problem is multi-dimensional, but the major reasons are; 1. UBI butchered the unreal 3 engine so the DynamicPingThreshold and the DynamicNetSpeed included in the unreal 3 engine doesn't work correctly (even though its enabled in the .ini file properly). 2. The server side code/and the client side code is so burdened by all the other **** that UBI threw in that it barfs frequently if it can not replicate fast enough, and everything in the game replicates to all players continually, so if you are delayed in a replication you get disconnected. It even continually replicates AI items even if AI is not being used. Although what you may experience as lag in a game is also partially composed of the effects of the path between you and the server, its also largly composed of the burden on the client and server computers and how fast they are able to process items. The reason it seems like enabling punk buster helps is because of the way UBI coded the game, punk buster fills a 'void' in the net code, which is a problem in its self, but the reason is that punk buster beefs up the activity rate of the game to the server by its constant checks so the server doesn't drop the game when the heartbeat is delayed due to all the replication. In short the net code in the game is poorly designed. And those are the main reasons for the high lag and disconnects. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Dealer_0_Death, |

Do you know someone close by that you can try to connect with.
Ubisoft's browser doesn't display ping on most servers, so maybe the server you are trying to connect to has very high ping. I usually only see 2 or 3 ping times out of all servers, and I have seen one pop up with well over 2000 ping! I can host and connect with players I know who live in the U.S. where I live. Probably not the problem, but at least that would eliminate the possibility. |

I'm currently going through the same issues, everytime I load to a server I get booted back to the lobby and the message reads "connection to the host has been lost." Why would This issue occur?
