Anyone got any ideas before I use the cd as a frisbee ?

Sounds like your drive isn't compatible with the DVD. I have had this happen on other dvd games before and had to use another dvd drive. Try it out on another dvd drive on another machine or laptop.

Tried it on a laptop and two other PC's same error

Also tried copying the data2.cab file and gets to the end and says cant read disk

Yeah seems like it is... just take it back and they should replace it asap.

im most likely going to download this game from a torrent and use my CD key.

still its a ****ing joke how ubisoft has supported this game and released it with apparently no testing.

i got the game as a birthday present yesterday and im pretty upset about it

Do you have a virus scan? If so disable it, I often get this error when installing with the virus scan on.
