I've never seen that one before.
Ravenshield has 2 disks and you don't mention if the problem arises on the first or second. PIO interface uses a great deal of CPU overhead, so is likely why it is taking forever. I honestly don't know the answer, but maybe there is something you can try. If the copy protection on Ravenshield isn't too invasive, you might be able to copy all of the files to your hard drive and try installing from there. (Find and run the Setup.exe file) If the problem is on the first disk, copy that one to your hard drive, then use the second disk to continue installation. Also, #2 is the play disk and you will need that one in the drive to play. Another option might be if you could make an ISO of the problem disk. I would guess that the #1 disk might be easier since it isn't the play disk. Like I said .. I don't know if this will work, but worth a try. Good luck! |

Don't know about Thor but my problem starts with the first disk where it asks to have disk 2 to inserted so that "Stream.sso" can finish installing but it is not on disk 2.

The "Stream.sso" file is in the sounds folder on the #2 disk.
I don't know if you could copy that file to your hard drive and then lead the game to that file when it asked for the #2 CD or not. Or if it gives you an option to browse to that file when you get the error?) (The file is about 240 MB) If it works, then you could browse back to the drive where your CD is to complete the installation. Just a wild idea, but anything is worth a try at this point. There are also some autorun files on the CD. When in the main struture when you first explore the disk, and also a couple of autorun and run files in the auto run folder. It might be worth running those after the first disk is installed. Again .. just grasping at straws! I have read many posts on this same problem, but never really saw a solution without replacing the CD. It seems there were a batch of bad CD's produced, and especially those shipped to Best Buy! |
