Yeah, and so long as they don't build a "super computer" for me, I really, really don't care.
Anyway, I dunno how that previous guy got it to work. For me, when I played singleplayer story mode, it was a guarenteed blue screen after about 3 minutes, and there is lots of stuttering involved. If I play co-op with a buddy of mine, then we can play for like an hour and a half before anything happens, and the stuttering stops after a few minutes. I haven't tried it, with all the stuff updated, though, which I just got the AMD Core Optimizer and new Forceware. |

I have a similar problem...I can play Terrorist Hunt fine, on and off line, but when I go to play Story mode, on or off line, I just get a black screen for 10 minutes...then my computer crashes. I have a updated evertng possible on my machine, reinstalled the game, meet att the min requirements, have a 8800GTX, 1 GB RAM, AMD 4600+ and ordered from Steam.

Wow, that really helped. Me and my friend played online co op to our hearts content and my game never crashed. However, I'm still afraid of single player mode, so I won't try it. I would say it's te AMD Dual Core Optimizer that really fixed the problem and not the Forceware, but who knows, it could be the other, or both somehow.

i have tried EVERYTHING, game still blue screens and crashes, I cant believe I got all the way up to the public library level before this happened tho, and now it happens everytime about 1-3 mins into game. terrorist hunt works fine, btw- intel core 2 duo, 8600 gt, all up to date drivers chipset etc, even flashed bios. They better patch this damn problem because I bought this game on steam and cant get a refund, pissed away 50 bucks

Nah' I've used the dual-core optimized since I first got this pc, and that didn't fix the issue. I guess we have to wait for a patch from Ubi'.

Well I did some testing and found out the Terroirist Hunt mode was using about 750 MB of RAM and when I launched Story Mode it was up to about 900MB. I went out and purchased another GB of RAM and it runs fine now. So I guess UBIsoft is selling this game under false pretenses that it will run on 1GB of memory. Do any of you who posted here have more than a 1GB on your machine?

So is this crashing only with this GAME RSV2 ? does your systems run RSV1 fine ? Does it run other games fine ?
For the AMD users: Did you install all the AMD drivers? and the AMD Dual Core fix ? http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/...re_Optimizer_113.zip I am getting crashes at the end of the MP Coop round. Can play for 4-6 rounds, then crashes.. (shuttering for 30-60 secs.) then locks up. The shuttering I think is happening as it writes out the memory dump file.. My 2 cent.. |

exhumer2678, I was having an almost identical problem to yours. Usually within 1-2 mins after the start of the chase of Miguel my system would BSOD.
I tried various solutions, all to no avail. I also tested my profile on a system similar to mine and was able to play through the chase section with no problems. Finally I removed my sound card (auzentech X-Mystique) and enabled the motherboard sound chip (realtek). This "fixed" the problem in that I am now able to play through the chase and beyond with no BSOD issues. I don't know if a similar solution would fix your problem, but it might help you to find a work-around. |

@dr. rogue: R6V runs fine, the second one doesn't. I have had those fixes since even before the game game out, and as you can see, nothing helped. But the crashes seem to happen randomly, if you factor in everyone's able playing time.
@ AzraelLenGraden: Ram isn't an issue, I have 3 gigs, and I still get crashes - unless I use the work-around fix which I posted earlier in this thread. |

Game ALWAYS crashes for several people I know, when a terrorist hunt or coop match ends and the screen comes up to show stats. Right then it freezes for everyone, stutters the click click click sound and crashes. I use Intel, I guess my "perks" aren't perking enough at the end of every match.

I dont want 2 buy any ubisoft' games anymore..

I have an intel E4500 and I get lockups/crashes.
It used to happen every now and then. Now, it happens whenever the loading screen (of the 3 guys running) changes resolution (the guys get thicker and slow down). The screen stays black. Sometimes I got to blue screen (infinite loop error). Maybe it's because I just overclocked my CPU? |
||||
|
I changed my driver and I couldn't even load the game (it would freeze while loading)...
I also set my CPU to stock again. I got the newest 7 series driver and the game loads again. Freezes after playing a few minutes. Is everyone getting an infinite loop error when the game crashes to the blue screen? I get an infinite loop error with nv4-display (aka, my vid card driver) This message has been edited. That's a video or sound driver issue.
Download Driver Cleaner and follow the instructions. It will let you do a complete fresh install of the latest versions of drivers once you have them downloaded. http://www.drivercleaner.net/ ------------------------------ http://www.squadgames.com Home of the PC Rainbow Six prize Tournaments. Mine does the exact same thing with AMD dual core, but only on certain maps. The dual core optimizer, and latest drivers didn't help. It would be nice if Ubisoft would admit there is a problem since so many players are experiencing this and many more, and come up with a solution. |

Done, still get loading freeze. Cant tab out cant turn of my comp without reset button. Funy thing is i can play the game flawless without patch. Even if that should work what you posted it should NOT be needed. I have a fresh XP installed since my computer decided to screw me over this weekend and its fully updated. Somthings fishy the crab said |

I too am getting the loading freeze with the sound looping. System is still responsive and usually can kill the game from the task manager and re-launch. I have tried this on fresh installs of Vista 64 SP1 and XP Pro 32-bit SP3. All drivers\bios\etc up to date. All other games run fine, but this one. We need a patch now!

Did you guys do the sound fix and reduce your DirectX Sound Acceleration in the control panel?
