Hey, got the game today, and even with the 1.01 patch, randomly, between 2 minutes & 45 mins of playing, the computer will crash and reset (both on single player & multiplayer).
These are my pc specs: AMD Athlon Dualcore x2 4200+ 2.2G 3 gig of ram Nvidia 7800GTX - with the newest drivers (Beta drivers from march)
same problem and I know its not my PC. Everytime I get to the part on the public library level where I have to chase down miguel, my computer cuts to a blue screen with some text on it (for a split second) then crashes/re-boots. I am pissed I just spent 50 bucks on this and it crashes my pc
A temp soloution my friend figured out, is that if you use dual core, and have this prob, start the game, alt+tab out, then go to task manager -> processes -> find the exe -> right click - set affinity, and disable it running on the first core, only the second, and it should run fine.
ok well first off I unisnstalled and re-installed the game on steam. i did what grim said, disabled first core. game still blue screens/crashes then reboots my PC, when i get back into windows after reboot it says my system has recovered from a serious error and the message keeps popping up, there best be a patch that fixes this or i want my damn 50 bucks back

I tried this, but the problem remains. Any body else got some ideas what can fix this? I updated the drivers for the graphics card and the mobo. Is there anything else I can update that might help?
Same problem here also. One shot and it crashes to desktop. And it locks up my PC. I have all updated drivers, frameworks, directx 9.0c.Ran DXDIAG,MSCONFIG, all has no problems. Ran the UBI pc COMPAT EXE. PC passed on everything..
AMD 64 3800+ G Force 8600gt DDR3 93% free space on HD.
MANY people seem to have similar, and BIG, problems with R6V2... It's very evident that Ubisoft is'nt taking any responsibility. Noone ansvers the calls for help by thousands here on this forum (that I gather THEY put up?) so we all we can do is tinker with our hardware (and god knows what can happen to it. Surely though, if it breaks, Ubisoft won't take any resposibility). I am VERY close to returning this piece of **** to the vendor!!
I have the same problem to. I have tried everything I know. And I work in IT Computers lol
Ubisoft please fix this asap the game can not be played. I did not spend my good money just to throw it away. Because if I cant play it I spent my money for nothing.
Are you serious? I hate Intel, they cost double on average the price of AMD processors with no extra perks. I'm not gonna buy a new CPU just because Ubisoft doesn't care enough about PC owners to make a proper port. I mean it's like the guys have never even seen a computer before. That stupid sound loop bug is STILL IN THE GAME FROM R6V1. If they're going to make games that are supposed to be good, but crash your computer every 5 minutes, I'm not buying anything from them anymore.
Sorry CrizzyEyes, but Intel does has several *perks* over AMD. Couple years ago they co-developed software for their CPU's with a company called Digital, who basically made the CPU's for what we call the *Super Computer* today, which is still the most powerful thing humans have build lol. Digital sold Intel the sole rights as a last ditch effort to get out of bankruptcy.
My 7900GT runs so hot it's causing lockups on my rig. I've a box fan running full speed into the case to try and cool it. It lowers the length and frequency of the lockups but doesn't eliminate them.
I've a 8800 in the mail to hold me over till i feel i have to rebuild the entire rig lol

This isn't an "AMD vs Intel" thread you nub. This is a "Why the Funk are we Getting BSoD Every 5-30 Minutes"
Your opinion on the better company is immaterial. The fact is, some people choose intel, some people choose AMD.
