I got a: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 4400+, MMX, 3DNow (2CPUs), ~2.2GHz 2046 RAM Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) ATI Radeon X1300 /X1550 Series (it got a green tick!) My first weekend off in 6 weeks and i miss a R6V2 night with my mates beecause the controls all lag, keyboard too. |

I don't believe your problem is your CPU.
I know several people running similar systems as you, but all have at least X1950 cards. No one is disabling a core. Does this happen in single player or just online games. You don't mention your internet speed which could also cause the problem if it is online only. Here is a chart that may help you compare video cards: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/desktop-vga-charts/b...%2C1617%2C1563%2C%2C Here is an AMD Dual Core Optimizer from Nvidea, but I didn't notice any difference when tried it. http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/...82_871_13118,00.html |

Hi
The problem occurs in single player mode offline as well as online. I'm connected at about 3.5MBps on average to net. I play at 800x600 there doesn't appear to be any graphics lag, as in its not choppy and stuttery (been playing on PCs since Doom) although its not as smooth as I would like obiously I tried disabling a cpu as it was suggested in another thread as a poss fix, which it ain't. I guess i'm after some hard evidence b4 i splash out on new grfx card. Don't want to spend £200 on something that might be a solution. if this is mouse pointer and keyboard lag caused by a poor grfx card its my first experience of it. That's not to say its impossible of course |

Okay .. then it isn't an internet problem!
Since you have already set your resolution down to 800 x 600, try reducing other settings to see if you can find something that works. Antialiasing would be the main killer, so set that to "none" Then try reducing other settings one by one to see if you can find a setting that will work. Your graphics card really is on the low end of what will work, and this game takes some horse power to run at high settings. Too bad you aren't in the U.S. There are some good deals on decent cards right now. Maybe you can find something comparable there. Here is an 8800 GT for $69.99 after rebate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125089 The only drawback is, it is only 256 MB. But for the price, it should work fine. Here are all 8800 GT's. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...&bop=And&Order=PRICE I think they are probably the best value for the $$ right now, since the 9800's are out. Good luck!! I hope you find something that works! |
