I just downloaded Rainbow 6 Vegas 2. I tried to play it but I get two pop-up erorrs.

I got the same error after having bought it and direct downloaded it. Would love to know what is going on?

I have the retail version of Vegas 2 for the PC.
I did a search for the file you named and there is no match.

I have to wonder if this is something to do with the download version, and possibly with your activation code.

Try contacting the company you downloaded from .. maybe they can help.

Maybe someone else here can come up with a more helpful answer.

I downloaded via from Direct download through Ubisoft. How do I get a hold of them and talk to a person?

Well I am the kind of person who will find someone to talk to if I have to. None of those tweaks worked for me.

Has anybody received an update regarding this issue yet? I purchased this game yesterday (24 May) and cannot play because of this error. I'm not experienced enough with computers to know what this type of error means. Can anybody provide some insight? I'd appreciate the feedback.

I bought it few days ago via Download Manager on Vista, and same pop-ups has been showing up.

If this is happening on only download versions, I would contact the company you purchased from!

It could be a missing or corrupt file in the download file.

Or, maybe they can provide a fix.

No the download version to totally trashed. So I do not think it is us. Those of us who downloaded it from Ubisoft store are all having this issue.

I never did think the problem was with you or any of the others.

I was just trying to find a way to figure out what this file is and if it is available from another source.

I do think it is a problem with the download file, whether from Ubisoft or another source.
I'm sure the original comes from Ubisoft no matter who carries the download it will be the same file.

I'm guessing you still haven't got it fixed. I downloaded from direct2drive and same thing. I'd love to know if anyone has gotten a digital download version to run.

One forum I read seemed to think it might be a problem with the activation code.

Try contacting Direct2Drive and see if they can supply an answer.

Seems like if you purchased from them, they should be responsible.

I have tickets in with both Ubi and D2D on this. I did notice that my Assassin's Creed directory has a DRMStub-AM.txt file of exactly the same size. I also got it from D2D but it activated just fine. That's why I'm guessing it has to do with digital downloads since I read elsewhere that those with discs don't have that file.

My guess would be it is related to Digital rights management. The dreaded DRM OHHH Nooooo

Actually I am thinking the text file is corrupt and cannot authenticate itself with the master server to allow the completion of the install.

Could a bad url in the text file maybe. Without seeing the file I dont know.

Or I could just be blowing smoke up your backsides trying to look impressive to everyone.

But I really think it might the reasons posted above.

You shouldn't have to go through this mess after buying a legal copy from Ubisoft .. and even though a "no CD patch" is illegal .. in this case, I would say suggest what Ubisoft is doing to it's customers in more illegal!!!
Since you paid for the game .. do whatever is necessary to get it running!!

Mine and others experience with Ubisoft support has been absolutely useless!
You will receive a very generic message (Usually from Jason) with a ton of generic solutions including the option to install/reinstall and make many changes to your system that could cause more serious problems.

The truth is ... support doesn't really know how to fix anything!!!

I found at "No CD" crack that seems to be working. Go figure. Thanks for nothing UBISOFT...

I will say this though the Tech Support guy who was helping was top notch.
