i can confirm this is a glitch.

i booted up the game, it said welcome back, here are your rewards:
2500XP
Flight Helmet
Balaclava

However, i am now at 9500XP and still no "Private First Class" acheivement.

did they not have one returning elite test the game? not sure how this got missed.

other than that. this game is SICK. buy it now.

What is really annoying is that games should do more things to allow your hard work pay off in a sequel and when bugs like this happen all it will do is convince the developer not to bother with any cross title bonuses.

This is not a rumor, it is true. It has happened to me, and 3 of my friends already. We were given enough XP that it bypassed the first achievement you get for ranking up, and so we cannot get it.

Does anyone know how to reset your rank?

Because I doubt Ubi will have a patch for this anytime soon, and I think it would be much faster to just reset, and get the achievement normally.

i got the ballistics face mask right off the bat, that took me like 2 months of team sharpshooter last time, lol

Besides, from what I heard from other people and from what I've seen, you can't reset your rank in this game. Even though I'm not usually all about the achievements, I do plan on getting them all for this game. It would be a shame if someone who hadn't played the first Vegas would get that chance rather than any of the hardcore gamers (and not so much hardcore gamers who still missed out on it).

Maybe I'm overthinking this. It's only 10 points, right?

Not at all. Completionism is important to a lot of people, myself included.

Once the patch is applied I fully expect the achievement to pop up for anyone who is PFC or higher.

Agreed. It's just frustrating that there's no solid way to truly get into contact with the developers about this.

i haven't read thru this whole post, but i see a lot of people saying this affects only R6V1 elites, but i only played R6V1 for like 3 days... i was only a PFC. however, i got the veteran bonus as well (albeit, only 1250XP, but that still promoted me to PFC in R6V2 and bypassed the achievement).

this is not just elites, but anyone who was given an XP bonus putting them above PFC. my brother doesnt even have a live account, and even his profile didnt get the acheivement.(i think his welcome back bonus was 1250XP)

Just to clear this up. Anyway who ever popped a Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 disk into their console gets the XP boost. Returning elites get the extra XP plus they unlock some clothing early.

I hope that clears up a lot of the confusion.

Here is my problem, I as well did not get the private first class acheivment but problem is I started out at private 2nd class it just did not give it to me so I plan to transfer my My vegas 1 and 2 saves to a MU (if I can) delete my saves on the hard drive and go for the achievment. hopefully it it will work.

I think I will just wait for the patch, in the meantime I will work on other achievements.

Ubisoft seriously need to start paying freelance devs to handle the achievement side of things.

I'm not really knocking Ubi, they make some great games, but how many titles do they need to get under their belt before they can show any sort of competence.

Maybe someone from another company could come in and show them how to do it.

Hmm, everyone is talkin about this affecting people who beat R6: Vegas on realistic or whom gained the "Elite" rank through, well I did neither of those but I played online for quite a while and when I got the game yesterday and started it up it told me "Welcome back Stiler" and gave me the xp/flight helmet/balclava and I didn't get the PFC achievement either.

same problem here didn't get the achievement for first privat class and i'm already corporal . I want my achievementpoints

I'm beginning to feel a little sorry for Ubisoft. True, this shouldn't have happened, but it's one of those idiotically simple mistakes that could have happened to anyone. (I know not everyone makes games, but you get my point, I'm sure)

They say they're working on it so all we can really do is wait for that to happen. In the meantime, I really, really need some people to help me beat Murdertown on Realistic. (I just went off-topic....)

I wonder if many people are not getting "That wasn't so hard" (completing just 1 scene as Knight)... I have the 5 scene achievement but not the 1 scene achievement, hope that gets fixed too!
