I'm stuck in the Bristol Suites Hotel level. I reach room 41 and I spy all the conversation. Eventually, the conversation ends, the characters leave the room and that's all: they stay forever behind the closed door and I can't do anything but staying there forever. If move the microphone away or do anything else the mission fails.

I've read several walkthroughs and all of them say that I must follow the characters when they leave the room, but if I do so the microphone loses focus and mission ends!

Any clue?

Hey, I had the same problem. It is one of the BUGS of the game. But I found the explanation. In fact, it is a problem between the low-speed of the game on PC and the coordination with texts. You have to reinstall the game many times until it works (until you can move fast), it is really boring but it is the alone solution I found! (after the discution, when he says "what's that?", the point of the mission is finished and you are able to continue.
If only there is a patch wich corrects these bugs...
