I loved playing the original Ghost Recon and GRIT. Ghost Recon 2 was still fun, but it seemed like it was heading down a path to be more like Halo. I'm not a big fan of the Advance Warfighter games, you shouldn't be able to take 10 shots from any sort of rifle or gun and live.

Are there any current games on the market for the 360 that are close to the original GR and GRIT, that have a large following on XBOX Live?

Not atm. But keep an eye on Armed Assualt 2 and Operation Flashpoint 2. Both should be released late this year for PC and Consoles; and both should be hyper realistic.

I'm in complete agreement with cheifmahoney. Nothing else plays quite like the orignal GH and GHIT. If there was something similar out there - even for the original XBox - I'd be interested.

Try Operation Flashpoint Elite for the xbox. Its nowhere near as good as the PC version but its still alot of fun if you like co-op tactical fun. A bit rough around the edges but the mission editor and level of scale and realism are something to behold.

Try Americas Army TS. Do not let the demo give you a false impression. The actual game is much better after you have acquired the skill points and gone through the war games and such.

I'm very suprised that more GR fans haven't came to this game. It is closer to the original GR than anything else out there. This game does have alot of strategy and like the original GR's your skill and teamwork determine how well you do in a match.

The ability to heal fallen teammates adds a very unique startegy in that you have to determine wether not its safe to heal and likewise they can be used as bait for the other team. The hit detection is good and like the original GR's we need more GOOD servers for the server-client network play. No 2 full clips to drop someone, like in GR it only takes one trigger pull from the M16 3 shot burst to drop someone.

This games deserves alot more respect then its given. With the right caliber players this game is very fun and a thinking mans game.

LIKE I SAID, I know the bootcamp and wargames suck, but you need those skill points to get you markmanship level up. My crosshairs have very minimal wobble. And I'm deadly with the m16. Alot of dummies running around with SAWS when I'm taking them out halfway across the map with a single 3 round burst.

WE NEED SOME GR players!! Remember in GR it was the ones who chose accuracy over the heavy support weapons. I seldom ever left single shot in GR. It was a well placed shot that counted.

Im tellling you GR fans if you give this game a chance you will fel some of that GR magic. And this is coming from a LONG GR fan who hates GRAW and OTS view! Its a damn shame UBI Screwed the fans of this game.

I know you asked what's availible now, but if you click my sig you can see what Blackfoot studios is working on. Their games will likely be the most tactical, thinking mans shooter since the original Ghost Recon, if not the original Rainbow Six.

hi all this is my first post. i came here because i've heard through the very reliable grapevine that a new GR title is soon to be announced, and i wanted to see what the chatter within this community was. i was a big fan of GRIT and GRSS on original xbox, but didn't really care that much for GRAW, and from what i understand this rumored new title is supposed to be more in the vain of the older titles.

add gamertag: Tulenaar for playing grit or gr1 or gr2 or gr2 summit strike against me. The graw's are definetly less better then before. However i really like ghost recon 2 thats a perfect one

I'm a little upset too. I loved the original GR. GR 2 was a nice change of pace with the camera view, also people wouldn't take too many shots to die.

But GRAW took run and gun and GR and made a horrible baby. I still like most of GRAWs aspects, but the way you aim while zoomed in is stupid. I dont care if anyone else likes this, they should have a option to aim with traditional ways instead of reticule sliding. =/ when I have a easy shot on someone and they just spray me is getting ridiculous.

Also, not sure if there are Rainbow fans in here, but its following the same bad example.
