Can anyone please help me and my mate get our voice chat going on ghost recon island thunder.
I was really looking forward to giving him a game the other night, but when we discovered after all the hastle of getting into a lobby that we couldn't hear each other we were really dissapointed. Does anybody know how to cure this problem, or have the servers stopped providing the service??
Thanks guys...

Hi Sergeanthelmet Smile

Are you playing backwards compatible on an Xbox360? Or on Xbox/PS2??

Oh what!!!!! Is that the size of it? I'm truly gutted. WHY?? I really don't know what it is with developers. They always manage to dissapoint. Thank christ for Activision, sorry ubisoft, but you're losing my vote fast.

Its not Ubisofts fault this time. All games that are backwards compatible had to be emulated by Microsoft. The problem arose because of the differences in chat features between the different versions of Live and the changing of some of the buttons between xbox and 360 controllers. Notably the white button. Well I think it was anyway but Im no expert so dont take my word as gospel lol.

Cheers Paladin, I think I see what you mean, I just think it's so flamin annoying as its my favourite retro game! I have sent ubisoft a tech note to ask them if they can send a download so we can have arcade mode on GRWarfighter to speed things up. That was one of the reasons I wanted to play island thunder online. Its like the speed of call of duty 4 with a retro game, its brilliant, and I cant see why it's only GRIT that had it?? To me, also, whats the point in microsoft producing anything in backward comp if it doesn't work as well as the original on all fronts...pointless I recken.

As Paladin says it basically comes down to the 'push to talk' function Frown

Its a shame because this one issue is what has prevented many of us jumping back on countless occasions, myself and grnvelvet have both joked about digging out the old Xbox so we can play it when we want, I think I might actually get around to doing that Smile

It is a shame Mrs Kleaneasy. I think I might dig my old box out aswell. It's just so annoying to me that you always seem to get one thing but not another with these darn games. If only they could remember the most important things...Like being able to talk!! Cheers guys
