We've all seen the spectacular scenes created by the Crysis boys using their new engine. Running around shooting plasma-toting aliens is all well and good for those that are into it, but think of the end product if used to create a realistic tactical shooter, namely if licenced to the GRAW franchise.
UE has at the time of writing not shown anything remotely comparable when it comes to rendering outdoor scenes in a realistic, lifelike fashion.. so i wonder, what are the chances of such a meaty combination ever happening? Baring in mind Ubi only recently licenced UE3 i doubt we'll see such a thing for some time yet, but if any game deserves a heavy dose of CryEngine goodness it's got to be Ghost Recon. |
