As I first played ghost recon 2 (for the xbox 360) I was surprised by the fact that ghost recon has a cover system like rainbow six vegas and gears of war and how it was much easier not to get your head shot. What I am asking is that will the new cover system in most new shooter games ever stick or will it just die out.

im sure it will stick, i like them very much and its better than running laterally in front of a wall like old FPS games

I agree, it absolutely rocks! I have to admit, I don't really play games like this on the console, but this game was a blast, and I love the cover system. I hope it does stick!

Ghost Recon 2 I'm still playing, and I got it for Christmas on Gamecube. Stupid bridge...and the stupid dam is getting me...But I'll get past it I hope. And the new cover system will stick.

The original Medal of Honor wasn't so bad, and all Call of Duty games are really good, but I'm so tired of the first person cover system. I have no problem with first person, but if it's going to simulate a battlefield situation, running up to a wall and staring at it is not taking cover.
This system is definitely sticking around. I can only hope that Call of Duty 5 picks up on this trend and implements it, even if you're still in first person while behind cover. In fact, that might be really cool actually. |
