What I would love about all else...

...is the return to Rainbow Six/Rogue Spear server-side camo and armour selection.

Leave the custom camo in the game for people to play by themselves or on servers that don't set camo, but at least give us (server admins) the option to set camo for side A and set camo for side B from one or two pre-defined terrorist and counter-terrorist camo sets!

EDIT:
Oh, and no bull**** arguments about how one would ensure the camo-selection would be "fair". I see enough neon pink camo out there to squash any "fairness" arguments. Razz

EDIT:
...and armour

I think that making it a server side option would be a good thing. You could even make the options pretty robust with a number of different camo options set by the host instead of just basic terrorist and counter-terrorist sets. I say the more options the better.

Just no pink!

I'd support setting aside server options for a team's custom camo. Not ALL of the camo in the game can give you that nice and slick CT look.

Honestly, I don't think there need to be more than 2 or 3 camo options per side. I think Rogue Spear for instance had the rainbow-six blue, green, grey, white (snow camo) and black. More options aren't really necessary and would only open the "fairness" debate.

Either way, I think that it would be a great server-side option. (Maybe even set to mandatory with "High-Stakes" mode?)

I would agree that five or six different options would be good, just not 2, one for each side. It would really be sweet if you could actually pick appropriate camo for a map, but alas no snow levels, no forest levels, etc. Granted, those types of maps may not be appropriate for a Rainbow, CT-style environment, but would be fun nonetheless

sure they would. rainbow has always been around all types of international locales, some of which are forest, snow, desert etc

The Ubisoft argument to your post would be that:

Forest = Ghost Recon not Advanced Warfighter
Snow = There was one snow mission Raven Shield, which OBVIOUSLY (sarcasm alert) means that Ubisoft cares for a diverse array of maps that players can engage themselves in!
Desert = Advanced Warfighter.
etc = Ban you! (like Expedition, for no reason)

  • Even for a flop on pc i got to admit that the vision of the artist(s) for Vegas is beyond speech. What i am seeing in game now is by far the best i have seen in any other game for realism. (coding) was the problem.
  • For a community that had potential to help YOU(UBI) they are the ones lurking in the shadows waiting for something better and you refuse to help. Even yourself.? This I don't understand.
  • Release some tools to the pc community for an over all better RaInbow 6 division.

You're right, I've guess I've forgotten that not all counter-op teams would fly straight in and fast rope from a helicopter instead of approaching discretely. Wink2

Make it part of High Stakes when you're hosting a team based game. The CPU should randomly pick a color for each team: blue or green. That's it, more then enough.

Worked fine in Ravenshield. It even works in COD4...

I like that idea make it random, but again people who run around in white shirts will complain that its unfair.

Ah yeah, i forgot to add: people with white shirts will be kicked from the server, automatically.

Like I said in my OP, I've seen enough people running around in pink camo and sleeve-less shirts to debunk any "fairness" argument. Smile

I will say I do like the idea of server-side camo being forced when "high-stakes" is enabled and the random choice sounds about as fair as it would get.

I would prefer a BAN, its bad enough they destroyed the rest of the game at least let us have apart where we can be happy an not be forced to deal with players like that.

I recall that GRAW and GRAW2 gave the host the option to set the teams' camos. Plenty of options, and nobody ever complained while I played. Rainbow could and should have something similar.

Just a server-side option is all I'm asking for. Server admins and hosts who want custom camo/armour won't be affected, just those of us who see "high-stakes" mode as a gentle return to better days and having the option to remove custom camo/armour at the server/host level would be icing on the cake! Smile
