OK. alot of posts share a common theme on the pro's cons of the current R6V cover system...I personally really like it, but its clear ALOT dont...let's have a POLL !

Question:
Cover system (as it exists currently) FOR or AGAINST??

I personally am against the cover system the way it is, I wish they would just reverse it so that when you walk up to the wall, you don't put your back to it, you just lean up close to it like in real life, and then you can lean out the same way, but with no pre-aiming stupidity. No crosshair or gun site until you lean out.

Perhaps this should be broken up into two polls to be fair.

1) For or Against Cover System in Single Player/CO OP

2) For or Against Cover System in Multiplayer

I prefer no cover system in either but I know there are some that want an easy shooter in Single Pleayer or Co-Op to make them feel elite but they don't really want real people to also use that against them in mulitplayer.

I have no problem with a cover system, however, we have yet to see it done RIGHT.
If you can see more than you could in real life, then it's not done right. If you swing out fully into the middle of a doorway, I'd say it isn't right. To me, a cover system should be a shortcut to a lean as well as taking cover.
Pull the left trigger to take cover, then move over and the guy turns some and LEANS out. Not stands fully in the doorway, not sees around the corner magically. A shortcut to get close to objects and then to lean out from them.
With any luck, the next game, or some other game, will get it right. Vegas was closer than most games, but not on the mark. It could be improved to get there though.

take it off? why thats the whole point of the game is for the cover sytem i mean its famous for that. If you dont like the cover sytem then go play someting else, but thats preetty stupid why take it off?

Becuase it isn't realistic. The point of R6 is supposed to be using tactics and playing in a realistic manner. I would say that is what R6 is famous for if anything. So instead how about you go play something else so that we can get our game back.

well ubisoft made a killing with this game by adding the cover sytem so i doubt that they will take it out.

True, but that doesn't mean we can't voice our opinions. Especially when it is a very popular one. The first games also made a killing.

in these forums there is a majority of fans of the REAL rainbow six, not the new found "typical" rainbow six target demographic ubi has put into place with vegas.

sort of in the same way for people who call themselves "Metallica fans". you have the typical fans (morons) and you have true fans of the band when they were actually good. a real metallica fan IMO will only consider owning 3 albums in their collection, the first 3 (some of the best metal ever written BTW, if youre into that kind of thing).

He! He! He! I do have only 3 Rainbow Six games in my game collection... The first 3 (with exp. packs)...

Most of this forum does represent the typical Rainbow Six fan. What it does not represent however, is a typical Vegas fan. Big difference.

ohh i didnt mean it like as in f off i ment it realyy there are games like cod4 that i play that dont have the cover system, if dey take it out o well im still buyin the game im just sayin deres always cod4

i have no problem with that. i am sure its a good listen, but from the songs i have heard, it is a far departure from the sheer intensity that put metallica on the map (my opinion of course).

the same exact way i feel about the "new rainbow". its a fun game for sure, but in no way does it feel like a rainbow six game.

Against. When you stack up behind cover, you don't put your back to the wall. You are a sitting duck with your back leaning against the wall with very limited mobility.

The key point is really the realism - and I mean here the realism with hostage situations, not with war situations.

And therefore I am against the cover system as it is. I won't repeat some really good remarks in this thread done before.

Just one point: The cover system should primarly be for stealth purposes, NOT for large scaled shootouts.
