There is nothing I miss more than the suspension and tension of the first games. Ugh. I have had several experiences like yours. My hands used to sweat a lot from the tension. That is what you don't get from a run and gun shooter like Vegas, the depth and the immersion of the gameplay. -Rage Forum Addict "Ever ready, ever willing, to protect life and property." ----------------------------------------------------- Former Ubisoft Moderator of 5 years. |

Wow. I never realized how bad it was. My friend had me go with him to some computer LAN place at the mall that you pay to play. (He paid, or I wouldn't have gone.) We played Call of Duty 4 for 10 hours, and did it again a week later. (I still hate that game, even if it turns out I'm pretty good.) I got so disgusted at the lack of realism, I went on a Raven Shield binge. After not really playing Vegas for so long, and then after my binge, I played some Vegas again, it made me sick that I thought it was okay. (Maybe because I had been poisoned by the filth of Lockdown, and Vegas is better than Lockdown.) I went around with an MP5 (my weapon of choice in Raven Shield), and tried to double-tap the terrorists in the chest, like I did in RS. They just take it, keep running full speed, and had sniper-like accuracy with an MG36 fired full-auto from the hip. It took 4-6 hits to take them down with the MP5, it disgusted me.

Vegas for the X360 was my first R6 game, and although I thought it was okay, I always had this feeling that it wasn't all it could be. Then I came across Raven Shield, and the missing part was found.
R6's fate is shared by another Ubi franchise: Splinter Cell. Both games were originally unique products that really offered its players something quite different than any other game. Because of this, they quickly became cult products that carved out their own niches in which they were the benchmarks that similar games were measured against. They demanded something else than a twitchy index-finger and quick reactions: a gameplay based on planning, patience and keeping you cool appealed to a more mature audience. It's really unbelievable that Ubi made the decicion to ruin all this in order to suit a market of mass consumer gamers that buy a lot of games almost at random, then forget about them around the next corner. Is it really more bucks to be made from producing mediocre games for people who get all their spending money from mom and dad than creating demanding games for people with their own income? Ubi has really become the killer of great concepts, and they're strongly contributing to making the world a more mediocre place. |

Hey, Arrow gave me an idea. Any old schoolers (or new schoolers) up for some Raven Shield this weekend?

I miss old rainbow so much. I really hope that Ubi gets it right and makes it more old school with some updated graphics and guns. Old school to me is original Rainbow and BA on xbox.

R6 just keeps going away from it's roots. The good titles in the series were Rainbow Six, Rouse Spear, and Raven Shield. I don't think RvS was as good as R6 or RS, but it was still one heck of a game - better than any that are out now. COD has the fake cheezy shooter area covered, let's take back what rightfully ours. At least on PC.

You guys know this video?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbPpZQ4il9s&feature=related That's what I expect from a tactical shooter like R6... except for the gas masks! And here a video about the german special forces team GSG 9 (sound in German): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJwFwUolTKk |

Your ''security feed'' idea was really clever! On the other hand, we have to agree that the tangos were not that brilliant, otherwise they would have switched those cameras off... |

They need ± 20 people to enter and clear a boat? What a noobz! Rainbow can do a whole skycraper with 3 guys! Are you sure these GSG9 n00bz use real tactics?? I meanz i did not see them use a cover system once. What bull*** dude! The leadz game designarr of Vegas vould teach em sum real tacticalz! Like the headshots with the sniper rifle or throwing the granades. BTW what were they doing in ze beginning? Was it a school? Are they dumb? WTFOMGLOLZ! !^@$!@N00bzz |

yes I miss the old rainbow six game and rainbow six black arrow. it was unique from most of the run and gun game. Now all we have is unrealistic games like halo 3 and cod 4 where u just go around holding down the trigger. old rainbow six games required team work and the maps were just amazing. we need to contact the retarded producers and explain what we want and explain how they are destroying the great series. ever since lockdown came out the franchise has become a joke. WE NEED TO GET OUR GAME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe, there is only one sight which is more exciting than a fully black clothed professional special operative: A formation of them making there way to the target area. |

I really miss multiplayer Rogue Spear. At least some of the maps stayed the same (KH, CSL)

Yeah, uh, we don't need posts bumped around here. A great way to "bump" a post is by posting something of value in the topic. |
||||
|

Looking forward to a Red Storm created GR! |
