I think what some people mean by having no respawns is for single player....
IF your team mate goes down, they are either wounded/incapacitated/or K.I.A.
What is ridiculous about Vegas campaign is that it would take too much to kill your team mates and their AI sucks! For example: I was shooting at an enemy when my team mate (Jung I think) moved in front of me, and I put about 10 rounds in the back of his head. He only just went down on his knees at about the ninth or tenth round, and I could heal him with an injection?? Makes me ask, "WTF?".

If the character you are controlling (in the older games) dies, you can take control of another character and finish the mission. Your original character can remain KIA if you wish to continue with the campaign. Or you can choose to restart the mission.
With the newer games, when you die (or even if one of your team mates die) its game over and you start from a check point! And because the game is linear you have to take the same route!

As for online, it most definitely gives people more of an incentive to run and gun. Negating all need to use any form of tactic and teamwork.

I remember playing terror hunt on Raven Shield a few years back. That took a hell of a lot of team work and skill just to kill AI bots. They acted smarter on that game and how old is it now??
Like I mentioned it was only a few years ago so there weren't too many people online. But those who were you got to know. They were all up for the challenge and all put in equal effort.

On Rainbow Six Vegas and CoD4 I have found people who kick because you have a higher rank or no mic, a lot of people who do have mics are racists, say random swear words, or make stupid noises. Then there are those who don't do anything. They join a room and go off do something else. So the rest of the team gets wiped out (on a no respawn game) and then we all have to wait 5 minutes for the person to be found and killed.

...and I want to get rid of the regenerating health in MP too.

Well, I only said some. But maybe I am wrong and everyone means online. But still. I think campaign is the worst for it. Like I explained above.

you can call it what you like, theres a little group in this forum who post the same negative remarks post after post in different threads, we ve all read them, they are entitled to there opinion, but please not repeatedly hi jacking threads to bad mouth the game and what ever else time and again.

anyways regards respawns can some one please explain why they want respawns out of a game when they dont effect anything to do with team survival or survival which are the modes you are talking about? i agree with you about how survival should be done no problem, but taking the other modes out? why? just sounds like a case of throwing the dummy out the pram to me, i dont like it so why should anyone else get to play it.

What about the other modes? The ones with objectives. Like hostage rescue and planting the canister thing (Correct me if I am wrong in thinking those modes have respawns). I do like team survival BUT I would much rather play an object based mode like the 2 I mentioned above, and have the option of no respawns. I don't mind playing with respawns on sometimes, but it can get too crazy and suicidal for my liking.

Oh and like I mentioned. It's mainly single player where I want rid of the respawns and HAVING to keep every single person on my team alive just plain sucks.
And the team mates on single player being able to take half a clip to the back of the head without dying? Please tell me you noticed something unrealistic about that.

Because that is how it used to be. There were no other game modes. It was no respawns. It had several game modes, but they were all without respawns. That is how the game was. It was unique to Rainbow Six (until CS copied it) and that is how it should stay. Those games were alot more tactical and true to the series. I understand "evolution" of a game series, but you gotta stick to the core game elements, and that was one of them. In fact, I don't think Vegas has any Rainbow Six core game elements. No planning phase, no more 8 man team. No more ability to switch between characters, you are stuck in Logan's boots, which aggravates me to no end. Respawns are in the game.... What has this series become?

For those of us who actually purchased and played the Rainbow series from game one, we have every God damned right in the world to ***** as much as we want in these forums about what the game has become, you troll.

Team Survival already exists. Just play that style. Funny as it is Team Survivial was real popular in Black Arrow. However, not many people played it in Vegas.

All the other suggesstions should be options for the host to turn on or off.

When you "Lean" in RB6:3 you couldn't see your enemy's movements.
When you "HIDE" in RB6:V you COULD see all of your enemy's movements taking no skill to pop out.

Bring back lean but FIX the glitches to make everyone HAPPY Smile

Between myself and a bunch of friends, we are still playing co-op MP on Athena Sword and RavenShield.

We tried Lockdown and sold it off within a week. Vegas was worse.

I've been on this rant before...my job is to ensure that developers create software that the end users will actually use. It appears as though UBI had none of those for Lockdown and Vegas.

Oh yes, watching the poll results, I am starting to wonder, if UBI ever made some kind of customer survey.

86% are missing the old style, only 6% are satisfied with Vegas - and still counting...

Rainbow Six used to be my favourite series. I'm an original 1998 PC gamer as far as my R6 history goes.

The series becomes further and further from the original with each passing iteration, and NOT in a good way.

Now we have to unlock equipment.
We can't customize our team's layout/gear.
We can't plan multiple entry points.
We can't play the campaign coop with a bunch of people.
We've been graced with the 3PV disaster.
We've been blessed with terrorists that spawn in empty rooms we just cleared.


Not that Ubisoft seems to care, but my money won't be spent on any further products of theirs until they stop catering to the masses of 12 year olds that don't like not being able to respawn in a "tactical shooter."

Just to add a few more:

- We are told who we have to play as and have on our team.
- There is only one team
- The team is only 3 men against a whole army
- If ANY of the "good guys" die, it's automatically game over.
- The maps are way too linear


Oh and this point "We can't customise our team's layout/gear". Ubisoft have put the PEC in campaign and your teammates uniforms are similar to the one you make for your main character.
But it is still limited too much!

Absolutely!!!

Adding the

- scripted scenes (especially, when you come to the hostages, and the tangos are "coincedentally" about to shoot the hostages. If they noticed my team, ok, then it was my fault, but by script... no thanks!

- lack of variety of REAL hostage situations like aircrafts, public buildings, ships, etc.

- no cool and very atmospheric weather conditions like snow and rain any more.
