I think being in new york would be so lame. First off you have GTA featuring new york all the way to times sq. Then so many movies highlighting the city, it's overdone. Me personally would like to see a Paris version, with all the old school sites and caverns, and open fields or Canada. The limits are boundless. I live in New York, born and raised, the sites here are perfect for team tactics, but there is a flux of different spots in the world to fully excercise your expertise. ie: iraq or afghanistan.

Being ONLY in a city and going from room to room doing the same thing everytime gets old.Rainbow needs more variations in the gameplay instead of just breaching from one room to the next. Its becoming obvious that they are more focused on the online then the campaigns. This isnt good for us because the online is plagued with problems on console and pc so the campaigns are gonna be lacking even more.

R6 Vegas followed by R6 New York... hmmm, I see a pattern forming... R6 Miami after that maybe??? Wink

I completely agree that the next R6 should go back to it's roots of a GLOBAL strikeforce. I have been a fan/player since the original R6 and although the recent games are outstanding in terms of visuals and gameplay, the original feel of R6 has been lost! At least setting the next R6 globally would allow better longevity because the DLC could introduce even more locations and missions to keep the game fresh.

My personal wishlist for the next R6:

Setting: Global
Grenade indicator: Get rid
Sprint: GET RID! (Please... Sprint... Really???)
User mission planning: Bring it back (With a pre-set plan for those who don't want to plan themselves)
Team select: Bring it back

That is all for now. But, for now, can we PLEASE just have another R6 game Ubisoft?

I guess that is to be expected since Lockdown and Vegas tossed out the formula that worked so well for the first 3 Rainbow Six titles and instead catered to the casual run n gun gamers. This poor decision ran off many that had been on these forums for years.

Here are the rules for UBI releasing information:

1) When development is far enough along that fan input won't be able to change anything, UBI will allow an exclusive on the single player portion to a game magazine or web site that has always given UBI games high marks and not pointed out any flaws.

2) Forums will be set up with an occasional announcement that is old news compared to the exclusives UBI hands out. No questions will be answered by UBI employees.

3) Shortly after that magazine hits the shelves or web article is posted, UBI will put out a press release that won't contain much other than "going back to its roots" and praising Ubi Montreal and telling us how lucky we are that they will be taking the reigns on this exciting game because they have done so well with it in the past.

4) The same magazine or web site will be allowed an exclusive on some of the multiplayer features of the game.

5) Ubi will release videos of carefully scripted interviews that tell us why this game gives us everything the fans want and something new that nobody else does (and nobody asked for).

6) Ubi will invite about half a dozen web sites and magazines that have only given UBI favorable game reviews to see the game in person. These journalists will report more of the features of the game.

7) Ubi employees still won't reveal anything new in the forums, but will confirm the features that reviewers mentioned.

So you see...no matter what happens, these forums are only really a place to report bugs that probably won't get fixed in the hopes another forum member can help you. If you'll read the Ubi Bi-directional Communication thread, you'll see this.

UBI hasn't taken input from the community since Ravenshield/Rainbow Six 3. They pretended to once after the Lockdown fiasco by gathering a group of fans they called the "council" to get their input, only to ignore absolutely everything and come out with Vegas.

If an Ubi employee feels anything I have said above is incorrect, please let me know and I'll be glad to post quotes from forums and news articles from other web sites.

Why does all that sound REALLY familiar..???

I beg to differ...

If a rumor is posted to the forums, then Official UBI can announce that the rumor is true or false.

It seems in (how long has it been??? 3+ years?? WOW) 3+ years, UBI still has not learned a thing about Community Relations and how to be responsive to the VERY people who made it the successful company it is.

How long can it POSSIBLY take for someone who is an official UBI spokesperson to come into these forums and state, explicitly and for the record, "There IS/IS NOT a new RVS/GR game coming."

It seems to me to be a no brainer.

The only two reasons for UBI to NOT do this courtesy (and make NO mistake about it, it IS courtesy) is A>They don't care about the very people who made UBI successful or 2>They have an ulterior agenda for keeping the very people who made UBI successful, in the dark.

Either/or, it shows me that UBI has learned nothing in the ensuing years....

Absolutely not! For me, sprint was the single biggest let down in the Vegas 2. Why do I need to sprint? The game, traditionally, is about control and awareness of your environment (much the same as the real life version). Vegas 2 totally lost it's Counter Terrorism feel to me the minute people started sprinting round the map like headless chickens. I'd even go as far as to say that I loathe the sprint ability that much that if it's in the next Rainbow release, it will be the first Rainbow Six game I have not owned (That includes Lockdown!). I am not alone in that statement either.

Sprint and the grenade indicator turned a great, historically tactical game of skill and patience into Call of Duty IMHO.

I agree with you 100% on the grenade indicator. I don't like that one bit, but I have to disagree regarding the sprint. I really like the sprint feature. There is a place for it. You can't tell me that in real life the operatives NEVER sprint. You can be tactical using the sprint, not everyone just uses it for running and gunning. I would also like to see them add the option to go prone. I'm kinda shocked that you can't. I know there isn't a ton of usefulness with it in this game, but there are certain times that it would be really handy. It could open a whole new avenue for this game and the maps that are created for this series. Just my 2 cents.
