how about the ultimate: 0 player co-op

the next R6 will feature Co-Op Observer

which is a new innovation exclusive to the Rainbow franchise that allows multiple people to sit back and watch the AI play the game

LOL he actually said innovations.

im still trying to think of what innovations rainbow brought to the table in either vegas 1 or 2.

I know he was probably talking about the Xbox 360 version and not the PC version but I couldn't help but chuckle at this little tidbit.

I guess they are confusing TACTICS with TACTICAL? do they even have the same meaning for most people?

I know a small percentage of the console gamer despises the way FPS are being done in the console but where you really expecting anything else since the the majority of the people (the masses) seek the console as their prime method for playing?

What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? If you guys think the Vegas 2 forums are crowded with hate & Negative posts from the PS3 and the few 360 folks, wait until the PC game is launched... Wink2

No, Ubi's ultimate game mode will be 1 man TDM with bots in a 8V8, and with no killcams, so if you die, you just sit there waiting for the incompetent AI to kill each other off. Sounds like fun doesn't it?

The devs took the saying "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!", to heart. That's why they refuse to remove any of the bugs or glitches!

I wonder if this guy actually believes the **** he said.

EDIT: Wow. The word [C R A P] is banned?

We've (clan) already stopped playing RSV2 and have returned to RSV if/when we want to play this type of game.

You guys/gals should come play with RSV with us. Look for my Gamertag.

By the way... I loaded RSV2 today to talk to and play a short match with a friend. Ughh... I hated this game even more now that I've gone back to RSV.

I see there's no update changing anything back to the way it was, so I doubt it will even happen.

"New ways" being to spawn enemies 2 feet behind you as opposed to 2 feet in front of you. That certainly changed the 'tactics' of the game. Angry Blue Guy These lazy-@ss programmers should be stabbed repeatedly with rusty corkscrews...

Bottom line is that this person talks about how they push for realism and will continue to push for realism yet another dev stated that they did the exact opposite in regards to the guns

FYI, its the same dev in both interviews you mention. he contradicts himself cause he is obviously a moron (you can easily tell by reading both interviews)

Ah, my mistake. Thanks. I've been unable to find the interview or quote in question since it was posted in the forums.

all they talked about was xbox and ps3.....of course your average little kid doesnt care about spawning in BFE....there are surely more kids out there that buy the game for quicky gunfight and then run back to some other console game that requires less patience. They would give it good review simply because they arent that into it and it serves their intentions well.
For us (the pc crowd), we are more dedicated and patient overall. We want a tactical game that we can play 24/7 and become truely proficeint at. What we got in noway serves our intentions.

there are a lot of Console gamers that want the same thing the PC gamers want. They just prefer consoles because there's no need to check driver/hardware compatibility and other system specs, and there's no need to fiddle with installing things.

Ya, and the ones who have lives that they'd like to spend doing things other than installing video drivers and rebooting.

@asianprince213 - that's a bit unfair, but I used to think like you a few years ago. I used to enjoy nothing more than messing about with PC hardware and tweaking the **** out of it. But then I got married and now I simply can't justify the time to do that any more. If I have a spare moment I like to just fire up the 360 or PS3, play a game and then switch it off. Not using the PC any more for gaming doesn't make me dim - it just means I have a life outside of games (as MeanMF says).

Anyway, to get back OT, that was an interesting interview but I don't recognise the game or community he's talking about.

I'm from the community which likes tactical shooters (like SWAT3, Rogue Spear and the original Ghost Recon). I like to know the exact ammo type in my gun and the armour type I'm wearing. I like to plan my room clearing in advance and pick my entry points. If I'm stupid enough to get wounded I want to pay the price for it with wound effects. I want to monitor the fitness of my team and have them develop with me.

Instead, I have Vegas 2. The game where you can give your team orders but you then have to meet up with them to give them their next order or they'll stand there forever. The game where you can be shot once every 5 seconds and never die as you will always recover in time. The game where I can throw smoke grenades but everyone has thermal goggles (whether their character model is wearing them or not). It's just "Diet Rainbow". Every game since Rogue Spear has taken out something I've liked and added something worse with a bit of graphical polish. It's a shame.

I actually enjoy the cover system. While I know it's not exactly the safest way to use cover, I like it because I feel like it employs SOME kind of tactic. Where standing next to a door and "Strafing" into the doorway for a quick shot is my alternative - I'll take the "Dangerous" method of back-to-wall covering.

As for the rest of the game, they're dumbing it down. We saw this terribly in Lockdown. Vegas is albit better, but it's riddled with bugs like GRAW and GRAW2 were. All four (Vegas, Vegas 2, GRAW, and GRAW2) were fun games, but there was a few things here and there they could have done to 'fix' the game.

I TERRIBLY miss the planning stages of the old Rainbow games. They had a way that you could load a default plan - and it would usually get you through the mission without an issue - but I liked that I could storm rooms as I thought they needed to be stormed. I like that I could have hold-codes so that I could make sure we all met up and certain points of the mission. I like that I could have one portion of my team clearing out a section of the buildings we were going through so that I couldn't be shot from this or that position while I was in a different area. Or that I could grab the attention of some sniper position while my team flanked them. There was just so much more to the planning.... But the AI lacked control. After you made that planning, you couldn't really control the players, if you needed to make a quick adjustment, you really couldn't take care of the issue. They were more/less just stupid bots that went where you pointed, and didn't have the ability to adjust like a normal human would. Not that the new AI is great, but it's better - even if it isn't as in depth to the strategy portion of the previous Rainbows.

****, I lost my train of thought.

id still like to know what the tradeoff was.

what was the benefit of selling out rainbow six's soul?

ubi will NEVER reach the #1 spot in sales, online, or otherwise. too many other game companies that make these mass appeal arcade type games do it WAY BETTER and have been for a lot longer.

theyre f***ing delusional.

That guy must have had a gun to his head!

My clan played several thousand hours of coop t-hunt over the course of about 6 months. Somehow we thought this game had a future and that the AI spawning would be fixed in vegas 2.

I played about an hour of vegas 2 online. About 10 hours trying to hack the game and several weeks hanging around these forums hoping somebody found a way to hack the R6Game.uppc. Still cant kick coming back here only to get even more disapointed.

I genuinly thought after everyone was so positive in expressing their interest in fixing T-Hunt we would get some kind of feedback.

I simply cant believe this guy says the coop doesnt need any work and in no way acknowledges anything the community have said what so ****ing ever!

Personally I am never getting a game that doesnt come with edittors / sdks and non-code monkey devs who cant even say anything on the forums because the evil producers want their money so bad.

Only future of PC gaming is games built around their communities and developers instead of this rubbish.

Actually it is the quote function, but some of us know how to quote even without using the button.
