When I used to work at a game company, we had to do weekly reports on our specific games forums to see what players wanted. We were not allowed to post, or to reply or even to answer a question, sure there were alot of topic that were "heated". All we did was compile a sheet and gave them to our QA manager who sent them off to the powers that be to be reviewed and the most urgent/sensible ones included in the next patch.
Maybe (hopefully) Ubi are doing this.. *prays* |

Well since it seems that with every release, be it a new game or a patch, UBI seems to be going farther and farther from what has been requested on these forums. So if they truly are using these forums to guide their decisions, then they have purposely alienated their client base, with the game and the direction it has taken AND the the total lack of communication about anything. You call the help line and are told to check the forums, you check the forums and they tell you to call the helpline, spending more energy in avoidance than working to fix the game. You would swear to god that the company was owned by the government, actually maybe they are, as that would explain all the taxpayer money that's been given to a privately owned company. I could see Defense Minister Peter MacKay putting out a game like Vegas, but charging 4x as much for it, saying it's a training tool for the troops preparing to go to Afghanistan, so the public should feel honoured at the opportunity .
The devs took the saying "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!", to heart. That's why they refuse to remove any of the bugs or glitches! |

|
lets us not forget that SCC has been delayed and the rainbow six vegtas 2 team actually removed THE ENDLESS XP GLITCH. if they did not check the internet for ubi game glitches and complaints then they would aldry be dead(theyve been around a long time)
i think that its a smart move by game companys, Going on youtube typing down ''rainbow six vegas 2 glitch/bug'' and then tr7y to find a way to fix the prob. or play the game themselfs and find their own glitches. Ubi are observant. they just cant listen to everybody. |
||||
|
Then why are many of the same glitches and bugs from Vegas 1 still alive and well in Vegas 2. People said that coop story had to be expanded to include at least 6 people from 4, yet UBI cut it in half. Many people said get rid of respawns in TDM, but now you have respawns all over the map. People said get rid of the bright colors for custom camo, yet the only color they did cut out was black, go figure. The devs said early after Vegas was announced that the PC was getting their own version separate from the console, then at the eleventh hour decided that a console port was "good enough!" according to Goliath, and after the dismal failure of V1, and repeated cries that it wasn't good enough, UBI did it again. A shoddy port that, even if it plays better the first, it pales in comparison performance wise to other titles currently on the market. It just seems to many that whatever people suggest to make the game better in the eyes of the consumer, the devs do the exact opposite out of spite. It is the dev team that drives what goes into the game, what corners have to be cut to meet the deadline. The gameplay style is what it is, fine, I can live with that, but when consumers that cannot even play the game on machines that exceed the recommended reqs, and can't get a straight answer, let alone any satisfaction from the company, something is very wrong. The devs took the saying "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!", to heart. That's why they refuse to remove any of the bugs or glitches! |

what i noticed was a trend of people grasping for straws. and yes bigrex provided perfect and abundant examples for why it's unlikely that they make(or heed) reports on what is said in the forums.

R6 lockdown , R6 Vegas 1 and Vegas 2
are proof that Ubi dont listen GRAW1 and GRAW2 is MORE proof they dont listen How many more games need to come out till people work this out |

Im certain they are listening, just as they are for GR and SC. But just because they are listening doesn't mean that they can implement what is suggested. They might not agree with the suggestions, or Ubi might'nt agree to fund patches for what they deem as minor issues or they just dont have the available manpower available to fix everything at once.
Have the 3 major Tom Clancy gone down the pan, as a fan of all 3 I personally think that neither GRAW 2, R6V2 or SCDA can even be respectively called Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six or Splinter Cell titles. But they are still selling in large numbers and thats what matters. The way Ubi sees it, is that if they sell in their millions then they cant be that bad. So it will continue. Until they recieve a bloody nose by a title not making the top 10 then they will continue to release these shallow, bug ridden, linear and diluted versions of previous great titles. Is there hope that they might wake up. I think so. But only if the next Ghost Recon pulls it out of the bag, as Conviction couldnt be further from a Splinter Cell game if it tried. I for one will probably buy the next Ghost Recon ( not 100% certain ) but if it is the same old story as the GRAW games then I will never buy another Ubisoft game. And thats the only way a company like Ubisoft will learn. Sales drop and the alarm bell starts ringing. |

I have been playing Ubi games for quite some time and have seen the end result change drastically over the years. With Ubi Montreal failing to optimize Black Thorn even back in 2001 not to mention creating an intentional bug (as reported on my website), they did at least release a patch in a timely manner. With Silent Hunter 2 and Destroyer Command, they released patches for each and even after they decided to stop supporting the game, they gave gamers the source code to fix the game and even create mods/new missions for it.
With the release of the Raven Sheild demo, they had to release a patch to fix the MP demo. At that time, I had never heard of the need to patch a game demo. Even the SP demo had problems with sound (sound familiar?) with weapons firing sounds at first, but none thereafter. The whole game needed 6 patches (the first 5 broke someting else while fixing other bugs). GR2 for the PC was canceled as was Harpoon 4 (this game was wanted by many gamers, myself included). Ubi has shown a proclivity to release buggy games and not listen to the fans of games it does sell. As said previously, until Ubi gets that bloody nose, they will keep doing business as usual. Help me clear out something here... are you saying you will buy GRAW 3 and then not buy if the game is a fiasco or you will not buy until the game comes out, reviews are positive and members here say is good... there's a major difference I think I can happily say that UBI has not gotten a rusted penny from me since Far Cry or before (I bought FC pre-owned) and won't any time soon. I don't care whether they make a little effort on the next FPS title since we have a difference of opinion on the meaning of the word "Tactical" ---------------- 0 ----------------- 0------------- What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? If you guys think the Vegas 2 forums are crowded with hate & Negative posts from the PS3 and the few 360 folks, wait until the PC game is launched... |

Does that mean you are playing a pirated copy?? |

Pop culture is stocked with ****ing morons. Slick marketing, shiny lights, silly sounds, and tee-hee game play satisfies the lowest common denominator that is our culture.
That is the audience they are listening to. The best thing you can do is not contribute your money to the madness. Keep your eye out for the renaissance movements. |

![]() Let's not forget listening to us complain about the sound loop and doing NOTHING to fix it from V1, Listening to us complain about the crappy spawning in t-hunt in V1 and making it WORSE. How can anyone say they're listening, paying attention, or fundamentally caring in the least what is said on the forums?? |

Don't be getting your panties in a wad and step away from the BAN button Ms-K, perhaps you were not here before when I explained to Colin and others that I was fortunate enough to have one of those Stupid but Rich friends that buys everything for his kid only to be given to me a few days later because neither him or the kids want to play it or want to go through the hassle of tweaking here and there. Heck, if I had an Xbox 360, I would also have the version of this game. This is not the day you get to ban me! ---------------- 0 ----------------- 0------------- What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? Oh believe me, I played them all, I think I played Far Cry front to back and left to right because it had plenty of replayability. GRAW I & II, Vegas 1 & 2 on the other hand, were played twice (normal & Hardcore) and then put to rest. Vegas 2 is in standby until we get to the part were Therien lied about the Tangos not spawning behind you in T hunt and get off his butt to fix the issue.
Now, prove us wrong and do something about it (like lighting a match on Therien's butt) so we can all come here to discuss gameplay ---------------- 0 ----------------- 0------------- What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? ANYWAYS to get the topic back on track.
Overall, I think Ubisoft can get a quality job done, and makes fun games. Rainbow Six Vegas 1 (given its FIRST OF A KIND system for its series) did amazingly well, but there were a lot of "but why cant we do this" moments. Really simple things too. Like adding MP locations under the map, or gaining experience offline, and they delivered this time around. I think the game, with some patches, and even re-patches of things that were patched (for example, changing back random respawns back to the old way in my opinion) will help seal the deal. I Do NOT regret buying the product. I've had a HECK of a lot of fun with it, it's only the minor things now that Id like to see gone. -VERY bad audio issues when playing splitscreen story -New TDM Respawns etc. So like I said, I bought the product, and don't regret it. But if Ubisoft doesn't listen, it doesn't make me want to complain about this game, it just is what helps me decide if I wish to purchase another Ubisoft product in the future. |
