i think it a nice idea for a thread. i wonder if others will like it.
though im not sure how much ppl will love other's camo so much that they will wanna copy it to their own PEC. some of the fun is to experiment and get something unique.
I would love to be able to have the cammo reduced to numbers to get the exact look that others are getting...

Highlight any clothing/armor, and hit the "C" key to bring up the camo selection list.
Scroll down to see Custom Camo 1, 2, and 3.
Click Camo 1. This will bring up a new window that will allow you to change 4 parts of the coloring in the camo from rows, and collumns. You can also change the pattern of the camo here (tiger, woodland, etc.).
Once you have a color scheme selected, click "Accept". You're done..well almost.
Repeat the above steps for Camo 2, and 3 to have 3 personal camo styles to choose from.
You have to play around with it to get what you want because it doesn't show up correctly in the "preview" box. So you'll have to make it with the colors you like, accept it so that you can view it on your character, and then go back to tweak the scheme to suit you. Pretty soon you'll get the hang of what color slots change the certain portions of the camo, and it will become easier/quicker.
Cheers.

I think what you are referring to is when the preview square shows incorrect colors than the ones you have chosen. Am I right in what you are talking about?
If so, I found out why that happens when playing with customs last night. It is because everytime you select a new color your mouse moves over the other colors and so it previews those colors when your mouse moves over them. So if you chose a color in the middle of them all (like C3), then when you move your mouse off of it, the other colors will replace it in the preview and give you an incorrect camo preview.
So what I have been doing to get around that is use the keyboard only when making camo's so that I can get a correct preview without any incorrect colors.
