"artistic liberties" is one thing, but what ubi does with guns in this game is really something different.
their idea of laser is a "magic wand". rather than add a red point like it would in real life (with no visible "beam" unless in very dusty conditions) they instead make it a "percentage multiplier" for the built in auto-aim.
and to add further insult to injury they modeled them after consumer-grade laser pointers, the kind you buy for your airsoft gun. none of the lasers are military grade attachments. i mean seriously where are the AN/PEQ's?
man, i dont even want to get into magazine capacities...

We're not saying we don't like them in the game, we're saying, if you are going to do it, make the time and effort to do it right or none at all... just saying!
---------------- 0 ----------------- 0------------- What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? GRAW I & II, Vegas 1 & 2 were throwned to the Lion's den and now FC2 is going to suffer the same fate? How Proud are you UBI?
Well the only thing you need to have on your gun is a high capacity mag because it gives you more bullets and you don't have to reload as much and it wouldn't be a drum cuz thats what light machine guns are for since i dont see an assault rifle with a 100 round extended clip. And you use the white recticle to aim, so who needs a scope or any of that crap if your not playing on a 13 inch tv.
you can't really say there useless cause the scopes are useful for long range kills. But i think what your trying to say is that they aren't military grade like. excuse me if im wrong.
the same thing happened to me. When i look at a game and it says "tactical", there's a whole lot that goes through my brain that has to do with tactical. And one of them is equipment. What im thinking is "oh this game probably contains alot of real life weapons, and real life modifications and so on"
R6V does scratch the surface a bit, but not by much. There's alot of space for improvement that the dev team is capable of, but we just haven't seen it yet.
can't really say that. look at the older series like OGR and Raven shield and before. I would say there pretty darn successful. to be honest even if this was not as successful, its probably really successful to the dev team because they were able to complete and finish the game, which you know does take a very long time.
