There are some simple awnser's to this,

first of all, if you have no warrnty you may think ''oh i need a new xbox'' and these thing's dont come like sweet's soo your sat there thinking there is no way of repairing this problem, there are some thing's you could try with thing's i've seen and herd of, but hey it's worth a go .

first thing's first a simple way.

Get two towel's and place the xbox 360 in the middle of them and rap it up good ''Make sure xbox is on with the red ring'' leave it on raped up in the towls for 20min's it will get hot but this is what your aiming at. then after 20mins un rap it then Turn it off. then back on and this could work, depending on how bad the situation is but do not play no games! leave it on the dashboard for 10mins to cool down this is if it works.

another thing same sorta thing for the more tech people.

take apart your xbox and get somthing that blows hot air '' please note you will have to take out six screw's you can find this on youtube under How to take apart xbox360. after you've split your xbox completly do NOY touch the boards or anything as these run with High tech chip's. simply remove the Disk Drive and get your hot blowing air object e.g a good hairdryer and heat up the system for 10 mins or so not KEEPING the hot air one place make sure you keep it flowing all round. this could solve the harder RING of Death..

these are only sulition's ive seen work.
but may not solve everyone's
But worth a go.

Oh yes make sure you only have the power lead in for the first one not pluged into your tv! and do not apply any power if you spilt.!
