I took the quote below off of one of the other Ubi forums. Why has this never been done with Vegas 2? This is infuriating. A freaking skateboarding game is getting more attention than Vegas 2. Now I know this game is being ignored by Ubi.
Thanks Ubi. You have really disappointed me this time. I have never said one negative word about Ubi or the dev team on these forums, but this is a slap in the face. A SKATEBOARDING GAME!!!!!!!!!! Could you at least give us the courtesy of letting us know whether there is anything to look forward to with this game on the horizon instead of keeping us in the dark? Please. "Ubi.LevelUp Community Developer Posted Wed July 23 2008 11:27 Sup everyone, I’m Clarence, your Community Developer for Shaun White Snowboarding. I sit with the talented developers in the Montreal Studios and I’m watching the game grow day after day. I’m very excited to be here as I share with you videos, downloadable goodies, event coverage, and more importantly: keep you involved with the process. We have many plans focused on the community, so I hope you’re prepared for a fun ride. I’d like to start by opening up any questions you may have for the Next Gen & Wii versions of Shaun White Snowboarding. I’ll grab some of the best questions and directly ask the development team for you. -- Best Regards, Ubi.LevelUp - Community Developer Ubisoft Montreal Studios" |

Errmm...not wanting to be too picky, but isn't it a snowboarding game ? You seem to be ranting about a skateboarding game.

You're right. My bad. Even worse...

Ubi.Levelup only shows up here long enough to put out any press release or promotion he is forced to. He will never answer any questions. I wish we had someone with a little backbone and genuine interest in the community like Kimi on the Farcry2 forums.
If we don't see some real information soon (one more week should do it) I'll start sending emails directly to some of UBI's higher ups like I did back before Vegas 1 came out. We actually got some interaction in the forums shortly after that. Their email address format was pretty easy to figure out but I don't think I should post it here since they could block outside emails if they get spammed too much. I'll have a little better chance at getting results by sending a professional email to just a few of them. |

I think you should do that indeed
Hopefully it will generate an answer or two, my hopes are small at best though. --- XLive Gamertag: Mysticaly PC Gamernick: Mysticaly, See you around |

It's the difference between a game that has already been released and Ubisoft has taken our money for .. and a game they have to hype to take advantage of more unsuspecting gamers!
After the sale, Ubisoft will disappear ....Again!!! Ubisoft = No support or communication after the sale!! Check this forum for proof!! Weeks with no word from Ubisoft on (#1) whether they will do anything to fix and support Vegas 2, or (#2) if they have already abandoned this game and the community!! My vote goes to #2! |

Boneless Ribs... have you ever tried them?

Someone should go over those forums to ask him if hes ever going to tell us anything in the RSV2 forums.

To be fair, let's give the devil it's due...they did release a few patches and gave us rehashed maps. While I (and from the look of it most people) were disappointed with the directions the patches took the game, it appears that they attempted to listen (random respawns to counter spawn camping and hardcore mode come to mind...whether you liked them or not is a seperate conversation) to the fan base. Then they were brazen enough to call it the "Fan Pack". While a large portion of the posters in these forums were calling for Calypso Casino, there were a ton of other maps there were being called for just as much. LVU Campus, Vault, etc. Wouldn't it have been nice to actually poll the fans to see what they wanted in their "Fan Pack"? The very thing that Ubi was professing to be a "thank you" to the fans for putting up with the initial garbage that was put out in the first place? And then to throw in two maps that are already in the current game...why? We need more variety. This game lacks the replayability factor that the previous installments had. I don't think it is too much to ask of Ubi to clue us in regarding the status of this game. All we are asking for is a five minute status update as to where this game stands. Has it already reached the end of it's development life cycle? While that would be a disappointment, it would give us the closure that we are looking for. If it hasn't, fantastic, and it gives us something to look forward to. It's a win-win Ubi. Just let us know what's going on. Please. |

I don't think they would be the same... I am not an employee of Ubisoft. Therefor, everything I say is my own opinion unless otherwise stated. Useful Links: Forum Rules These two are for laughs: link and link |

Well, I knew that since they launched VEgas 1 but is more fun to poke fun at them here than just sit back and watch it happen! ---------------- 0 ----------------- 0------------- What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? When was the last time a Community Manager or Community Developer posted in the Vegas 2 forums with news/information?

Why would it not make business sense to do that? What would it change? If people are still playing the game (which I do) they are going to play it whether Ubi states whether they are still supporting it or not. Would it be disappointing for them to say it, yes, but at least we would know something. With V1 they put out the Red and Black packs. They added like 7 new maps and 3 new game modes that weren't shipped with the original game. This time they gave us two free maps at the time of release and then 1 old map and 2 maps that were already in the game. All they need to say is that they are focusing their efforts on up and coming releases, and I think people would accept that. We just want to know what is going on. |

Actually, I think the reason for their silence is much simpler than that. The culture of this corporation is redefining the word arrogance. They don't f***ing care. They have the fast-food mentality. Their stuff is sold as is; buy it, don't ask questions and leave fast. Support doesn't mean anything anymore in this new market. This is the new market for casual gamers that are expected to believe that the game released is the final version of the product. The new customer isn't expected to know what a patch is. The new customer isn't expected to stick with a game more than two weeks. Also, the target customer isn't expected to know that this forum exists. To summarize, the new target customer is expected to be uninformed, careless, clueless, compulsive and speechless. Do you really think the communication is going to get better from this mega-corporation? Also, for them, the PC community is especially not worth their first feces, so... Sure, we hear them when they have to hype up their next garbage, but once it's released, then they're out of here to work on the next broken game. ************************************************ Originally posted by bjmarler1: ''There's a sucker born every minute'' - P.T. If the patch they released had actually been tested then UBI would have found that the "hardcore" mode they gave to us did not work after the first round... If they would come on here and tell us "Sorry, but we aren't going to fix the patch and you are stuck with the game AS-IS" then perhaps some people would put the effort in to fix the problems. Someone with programming knowledge may not want to waste their time fixing something if the company that made the product was already working on a fix. Is there no UBI employee reading these forums that has the guts to tell us the truth or the appreciation of the fans to get us some answers? |

That would be so easy to fix with the SDK. Oh wait, ''SDK'' is a ''PC'' word that isn't expected to be known by the target customer. Forget it... ************************************************ Originally posted by bjmarler1: ''There's a sucker born every minute'' - P.T. Barnum.
