There's no eta at the moment, but just like H.A.W.X it looks like it's going to be this summer sometime.
Happy shooting everyone (if you don't like the game why are you discussing it?)
You wasted your one and only post in these forums with this? I assume you got this information from the very reliable friend of your brother who works for UBI, right?

No no, his mom's co-worker's niece's dog-sitter's friend works at Gamestop. This is where all reliable game info comes from.

Here is one possibility of why we haven't seen anything on a new R6 game. There have been rumors of a Rainbow Six movie in the works, and something may possibly back this up. It's in this document http://www.ubisoftgroup.com/ga...te/270/1042/1967.pdf . Page 3/6 The Acquisition of Hybride Technologies. Maybe they are wanting to release a movie, and maybe a game to go a long with it, either in prequel or sequel form. It's just a guess, but who knows, it might be close to what's happening.

That's a shame...if they tie the next R6 directly into a movie it means we will be stuck with another linear single player game with great cut scenes and animations but crappy AI and multiplayer.

Not necessarily, Rainbow Six is already an established series of games, AND Tom Clancy movies are usually good, with the minor exception of 2002's The Sum of All Fears, and that's because Affleck should never have been cast as Daredevil or Jack Ryan. Though since the Tom Clancy name has been sold to Ubisoft, they have creative rights over what goes into the games and movies. I say it has a 75/25 chance of maybe good/bad. Let's just hope they don't get stupid and hire something like Jon Cena, or Justin Chatwin to play the Operative roles.

AFAIK Rubicon still controls the movies and books, but I could be wrong.

my guess is that the movie will really be nothing like the game and at best will be mediocre while the game should satisfy the need for a new rainbow (not to full extend but better than nothing).

Ubisoft cannot make a Rainbow Six movie as Paramount Pictures owns the rights to it and a R6 movie has been in the works for 10 years now. Whether it will see the light of day is a different story.

I'm actually glad there won't be a Six game soon. Hopefully that means they'll actually take their time to develop it. A long wait should mean there will be a greater number of people who weren't working on Vegas 2 will be employed.

i dont know if u guys know but the games are based on the books that is where they get all the names and copyright from and atm there are no more R6 books so no story. The only thing they could do is make the game again under different names and everything or juts release an online version without story e.g. Rainbow 6: Online.

There is only one book titled Rainbow Six. Rainbow does show up in at least one other book, but no game features said story. That book is called The Bear and The Dragon and Ubi does not have any rights to that.

That doesn't make sense. If they end the series it is because the games don't make them money. They would have no reason to throw a bunch of money into it for "one last amazing game". The last amazing R6 game was Ravenshield.

It makes sense though. Ubisoft has never listened to what their fans want. Why should they start now. My only hope is that in this economy they go bankrupt and the Rainbow license is bought up by a quality company.
How cool would that be if the makers of call of duty (I forget, activision, or Infinityward) picked up the rights? They listen to the fans, they react and produce quality games.. .
